London Heathrow Airport (LHR): Approximate driving time to the Boston Court Hotel is 45 minutes and distance is 21 miles (34 kilometres). Getting there: The Heathrow Express train takes 15 minutes non-stop from the airport to Paddington Station in the centre of London. Trains leave every 15 minutes and the standard single fare is £14.50. Paddington is on the Bakerloo, District and Circle, and Hammersmith and City lines of the London Underground. For the hotel, take either the District or Circle Lines and alight at Notting Hill Gate. From here, take the Central Line to Marble Arch. The airport is also on the Underground’s Piccadilly Line which runs directly to Knightsbridge, Green Park, Leicester Square and Kings Cross underground stations. Trains depart approximately every 10 minutes and the journey takes around 60 minutes to central London. A one-day travel card including travel to Heathrow costs £6.30.Black taxi cabs wait outside each terminal, and typically cost around £50 to central London. Coaches run to London Victoria station and destinations all over the UK. Local buses also serve Heathrow. All prices subject to change. Getting around: The easiest way to get around London is by using the Underground (Tube) or bus services. Single cash tickets are expensive and for the cheapest fares, an electronic Oyster card is recommended; these are available from ticket offices for a refundable deposit of £3. Day or weekly travel cards are the most cost efficient option and are valid on the Underground, buses, trains, DLR and trams. London’s black taxis are plentiful and can be hailed in the street. There is a congestion charge zone for cars in central London and driving is not recommended to visitors. |
