The PuLi Hotel and Spa (The PuLi) will signal the arrival of Shanghai’s first luxury urban resort when it opens in July 2009. The PuLi, with 26 floors, 209 rooms and 20 suites will offer 24-hour in-room dining as well as 24-hour concierge, laundry and valet services. Room sizes will range from 45 sqm to 130 sqm. In addition to the standard facilities available in 5-star hotels, all rooms will be equipped with flat screen LCD television sets, Bose wave music systems and MP3 docking ports, GSM portable phones with dual SIM card slots and city-wide coverage, DVD players, espresso machines, personal safes, complimentary wired and wireless broadband internet access, finest 300 thread count linen of imported cotton yarn with sateen finish and ultra-shield foam mattress contouring each bed for individual comfort and a good night’s rest. Every room features separate rainforest shower and toilet cubicles. The bathtubs boast stunning views of Jing’an Park and the skyline of Shanghai and those in the suites are equipped with 15 inch LCD television sets. Club floors from levels 20 to 26 comprise of 61 rooms and suites, all of which will have personalized Butler service. Guests on club floors will also have access to the hotel’s exclusive lounge, The Club, which will offer an exclusive space for breakfast, complimentary refreshments throughout the day, a private meeting room for use and an outdoor patio with spectacular views of the city. Jing’An, the hotel’s signature 120-seat Restaurant located on level 2, also boasts impressive views across the park. The partially modular menu will enable guests to continuously explore new tastes and textures by combining selections of the available dishes that use different preparation and cooking methods, to provide, essentially, their own tailor-made meal. Lunch and dinner will comprise of a Western menu, complemented by a selection of Asian favorites. With a strong emphasis on breakfast, the hotel will offer guests 3 breakfast dining options, a nutritious buffet spread in Jing’An, in-room breakfast and breakfast on-the-go both presented in a unique and distinct fashion. A 32-metre Long Bar will offer one of Shanghai’s ‚longest? wine and champagne selections by the glass. The bar and lounge will create a chameleon-like atmosphere as the space transforms in character and mood through the day. A superbly equipped state of the art gymnasium, sauna, steam room, experiential showers, jacuzzi pool, 25-metre lap infinity pool as well as the first Anantara spa in Shanghai operated by the award-winning spa group, is available to all guests on level 3. True to the hotel’s desire to maintain a sense of place in its product, the spa’s treatment range will reflect a sense of culture and character to the destination. The PuLi Hotel and Spa is located 50 km from Shanghai Pudong International Airport. A 45 minute drive from the airport, drive along the main expressway via LuPu Bridge to YanAn Highway. Exit at HuaShan Road. Airport Express Shuttle No. 2 is a non-stop service from the Pudong International Airport to the Shanghai Airport City Terminal in JingAn District, which is a 3 minute walk to the hotel. The Maglev High Speed Train from Pudong International Airport takes you to LongYang station on subway line 2. Take this to JingAn Temple station which will give you direct access to the Park Place shopping mall. Hongqiao International Airport is a 14 km drive from the hotel while the Shanghai Railway Station is a 10 minute drive. |

JingAn Temple A 400-year historic temple and landmark along NanJing West Road. Still often frequented by local Buddhist worshippers. French Concession An area once designated for the French traders and businessman in Shanghai. Today, it is one of the hippest places in town endowed with European style buildings, busy shopping streets and a trendy café scene. XinTianDi The area is the place to see or be seen in Shanghai’s French Concession District, and is known for its unique Shanghai architecture, blending European and Chinese elements. Art galleries, designer boutiques,cafes, restaurants and a vibrant club scene have transformed this into a popular area for both tourist and locals. Jade Buddha Temple An active Buddhist monastery founded in 1882 with 2 jade Buddha statues. The larger seated Buddha, encrusted with jewels,is 1.95 metre tall and weighs 3 tonnes. A vegetarian restaurant can also be found on the temple grounds. People’s Square Site of Shanghai’s municipal government building and the cultural centre of Shanghai, featuring the architecturally impressive Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre and Shanghai Concert Hall. The Bund The famous waterfront area along the HuangPu River is regarded as a symbol of Shanghai and home to 52 buildings featuring architectural styles such as Romanesque and Art Deco. Yu Garden Considered one of the four finest Chinese gardens, Yu Garden is located in the centre of Shanghai’s Old City and is one of the few remaining old tourist sites in Shanghai. A maze of bustling small streets and alleyways selling traditional wares and food surrounds the Suzhou-styled garden and is home to the famous NanXiang steamed pork dumplings. |
