We have several styles of room to choose from, and one is sure to suit your needs. | Getting There |
The closest international airport to the Hotel is the Sydney International Airport, Mascot, which has domestic transfer flights to either Newcastle Airport (Williamtown) with Qantas Directions by car from :- Sydney International Airport, Mascot - Take the F3 highway following the North Coast/Newcastle signs, take the Wallsend exit off the F3 and follow the signs to the city centre. Turn left at at the end of King St into Pacific St, right at Scott/Hunter St, then left into Parnell place. Approximate distance and time to the Hotel is 160km and 2 hours. Newcastle Airport (Williamtown)- Drive south along Nelson Bay Road following the signs to Newcastle, over Stockon bridge into Teal St. Turn right into Cormorant Road which turns into Tourle St over the South Arm of the Hunter River and left into Industrial Drive. Follow this road and signs to Newcastle city centre, turn left into Hunter St travel as far east as you can and turn left again into Parnell Place. Hotel behind park. Approximate distance and time to the Hotel is 30km and 20 minutes. Directions by train from:- Sydney International Airport, Mascot - Move towards the train depot and catch any train that stops at Central Railway station. Once at central, change trains to the Newcastle Hunter line. The closest stop to the hotel is Newcastle Station. Once exiting the station travel east up Scott St, the hotel is a 400 metre walk from the Railway Station in Parnell Place. Approximate travel time is 3 hours. Coach Transfers are available from Newcastle Airport (Williamtown) with Port Stephens Coach company. Approximate travel time is 30 minutes cost $9.00. Taxi Service is available from Newcastle Airport approximately $45.00 |

Undercover parking is available (with a fee of $15 per vehicle). Limited spaces available, we cannot reserve or hold spaces. Alternative parking is available on street - on Parnell Place - directly in front of the hotel. This parking is council metered 9am-5pm Mon-Fri only. |

Newcastle is a city revitalised, with its magnificent forshore, breezy walks, sunsparkled cafes, and many restored historic buildings. One of Newcastle's favourite parks, King Edward Park, has breathtaking sunken gardens, a rotunda, an obelisk and panoramic views that sweep across the ocean ideal for family picnics. The Bogey hole near King Edward Park offers a refreshing place to cool off. Originally designed as a swimming hole for officers from the convict era, the Bogey hole boasts a stunning pool carved from Newcastle's strikingly sheer cliffs. For historical buffs, Fort Scratchley is a must see. Just 200 metres from the Novocastrian, fort Scratchley was an operational fort during the second world war. Lose yourself in time and discover for yourself a centrepiece of Newcastle's history. For the Energetic at heart, parts of the Great North Walk are just waiting to be conquered! There is nothing quite like the walks of Newcastle, where you can delight in strolling up the promenade to the famous Nobby's Lighthouse before being enticed by the refreshing waves of Nobbys beach. Or continue your journey around the paths to Newcastle beach and beyond! And all within a few minutes from your very own Hotel Novocastrian. For Art lovers, explore the delights of the Newcastle Art Gallery, which has a significant collection of Australian paintings, prints and sculpture from colonial days to the present and major collections. For the serious sightseer, Newcastle's famous tram will take you to all of Newcastle's place's of interest. An attraction in itself, the Tram is a 45 minute ride that provides a full commentary of our magical city.
