Welcome to Hotel DeBrett Located in the heart of Auckland's CBD, Hotel DeBrett links two unique precincts - High Street's hip fashion and Shortland Street's tailored commerce. Hotel DeBrett's iconic building has been stylishly reinterpreted into a 25-room boutique hotel. Every room is individually designed and complimented with eclectic furniture, New Zealand art and photography. As owners we have tried to create a warm and welcoming environment with careful attention to detail and personal service. We encourage you to consider this your “Home away from home”. Each room has its own distinctive style and mood. All feature our bespoke carpet, designed by Michelle Deery, hand woven from 100% New Zealand wool, it is a dominant feature throughout the rooms, and invites you to kick off your shoes and let your feet sink in. All bathrooms feature black penny round mosaic tiles which reference the original art deco honeycomb mosaics, and are complemented by the polished black granite floors, warmed by underfloor heating. Soft white walls and curtains create a backdrop for an eclectic mix of furniture, fittings and artwork collected by Michelle in her travels around New Zealand, and internationally, over a number of years. Hotel DeBrett is the winner of the NZ Institute’s Heritage and Conservation Architectural award. Atrium and Courtyard Venture into our courtyard and relax under our glass-roofed atrium with Persian red travertine floors. Drawing Room Located at the end of the atrium, this is a private guests only space with an Honesty Bar where you can retreat from the bustle of the atrium, browse through the books, play a record or rediscover a board game. Location Hotel DeBrett is located centrally, in Auckland's fashion precinct of High St. It is a short walk from the restaurants and bars of Viaduct Harbour, the Sky Tower, and the Ferry Building. It is surrounded by art galleries, theatres and the Auckland Art Gallery and is within easy reach of the Auckland Museum and the shopping and restaurants of Parnell and Ponsonby. |

Loft Suite
Be seduced by our two level lofts, full of natural light but oblivious to the noise outside. You can choose between a two level suite with spiral stair access from living to bedroom, or a one level suite with juliette balconies onto the atrium. Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $75.00. | Getting There |
Hotel DeBrett is on the corner of High Street and Shortland Streets in downtown Auckland and is about 25km north west of Auckland Airport. A taxi fare could cost from NZ$60 - NZ$80 depending on time of day and taxi company. If travelling by private car from the airport, follow the George Bolt Memorial Drive onto the motorway and head towards the city. Take the Hillsborough turn-off and turn right onto Manukau Road. Continue until you reach Newmarket. At the lights, turn left and drive to the end of the street. Turn right at the lights into Gillies Avenue and back onto the motorway. Travel north and take the Nelson Street exit. Follow Nelson Street to the end and turn right into Victoria Street. Then turn left into Queen St. Turn right into Shortland St, then take the first right into High St. |
