In 1876, Eduard Sacher founded the Hotel Sacher in Vienna. He was the son of the creator of the Original Sacher-Torte, a unique chocolate cake. Soon after its creation, the Sacher became a world famous meeting point for politicians, artists and the aristocracy. Since 1934, the hotel has been run by the Gürtler family, who is very intent on maintaining the hotel old tradition. A simple glance from its windows confirms the spectacular location. It is directly in the city centre, close to the pedestrian shopping area Kärntner Straße, opposite the Opera House and only a short walk away from St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Imperial Palace and the elegant Ringstraße, a road which boasts an impressive array of Vienna major sites, such as the Burgtheater Imperial Court Theatre and the City Hall. It is extremely important for us to meet and exceed the high expectations you have in our hotel. The Sacher is not only a living tradition, but also an expression of contemporary Austrian lifestyle. Indulge an exquisite meal at one of our gourmet restaurants "Anna Sacher" and the "Rote Bar” at the Hotel Sacher Wien! Our chef combines international and typically Viennese cuisine, light yet at the same time innovatively created, with the true flavour of first-class local basic ingredients first and foremost. We also invite you to have a drink at the "Blaue Bar", a cosy meeting point in the heart of Vienna. At Café Sacher, “Sacher Eck” and the “Sacher Stube” we treat you to the Original Sacher-Torte, the Original Sacher coffee und other delicious Viennese coffee-house specialties. The Hotel Sacher Wien boasts a total of 152 elegant rooms and suites. On the two new top floors (floors 6 and 7), we are offering 42 contemporary rooms. Designed by interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon in cooperation with Elisabeth Gürtler, these new rooms have a splendid view of the city. Special attention has been given to providing maximum comfort and the latest in technical equipment: the rooms feature wireless LAN, a Dolby Surround system, roof terraces, marble bathrooms with separate shower and toilet as well as two washbasins, under-floor heating, illuminated vanity mirrors and plasma TV. The 110 traditional rooms which are located on floors 1 to 4 are beautifully furnished too – elegant furniture, choice antiques and fine fabrics create a warm and luxurious atmosphere. Moreover, beautiful paintings and other decorative pieces of art give each room its own unique character and style. Are you planning an intimate family party or a glamorous banquet? The Hotel Sacher Vienna provides the perfect setting for your event. |
