Willow Court Motel, New Norfolk is set in the rural setting of the Derwent Valley, just 30km north-west of Hobart. We offer a range of rooms at great rates including double, twin, family and group rooms with or without ensuites. The motel has recently been developed so you enjoy the benefits of our new premises and facilities. Our motel facilities comfortably accommodate overnight visitors as well as longer stay visitors, who may wish to use our kitchen/dining amenities for self-catering, full laundry facilities and internet access. Quality linen and bedding is provided and all beds have firm comfortable inner spring mattresses. Sofa lounge and table and chairs are provided in each room. Why not take advantage of our super cheap deals with non-ensuite rooms that have access to a shared bathroom. The motel has a number of shared bathrooms that have single shower, toilet and vanity. Bathrooms are modern and are cleaned daily. Willow Court is just a minute walk from the cafes, restaurants and retailers of historic New Norfolk, one of Australia’s oldest towns and the third planned settlement in Tasmania (1807) after Hobart and Launceston. The region was first settled by convicts who were relocated from Norfolk Island. Hence, the town's name! New Norfolk has many local attractions, and is an ideal base for day trips to explore the surrounding area, including Russell Falls and Mt Field National Park. New Norfolk is renowned for its six antique shops as featured on the ABC Collectors program. The Willow Court Antique Centre is next door to the Motel. Experience the history of Willow Court, of which the motel is a part, which was originally a colonial hospital for invalid convicts dating back to 1830. There are several heritage listed buildings (see photo gallery) which are well worth exploring. Guests are welcome to a free guided tour. | Getting There |
New Norfolk is 30 km north-west of Hobart. To get to New Norfolk from north of Hobart following the Brooker Highway/Midland Highway, take the Lyell Highway (A10) turnoff at Granton. Follow along and turn left into Glebe Rd then right at The Avenue. Turn left into George Street and we are on the left hand side of the road. |
