Family run guesthouse B&B accommodation near to Venice, 15 minutes bus ride from Venice Bus Teminal Piazzale Roma and from the historical city centre. We are a friendly homely guesthouse, we offer 2 double rooms (one with ensuite bathroom, one with shared bathroom) with the possibility of adding an extra bed in each room, we offer free internet access and free sat TV in each room, free bike rental. Ideal for those who want to stay away from the confusion of the city, but with all the comforts of home. Monica and Chris will be happy to give you all information and tips on visiting Venice and the surrounding mainland area. We are an Anglo Italian family of travellers who have spent the holidays in bed and breakfast around Europe, visiting many budget B&B accommodation and house farms. We thought we would like to share with other people the good experiences we had by travelling on the cheap and getting the opportunity of meeting many new friends and getting in contact with lots of other cultures. We decided to put part of our home at the disposal of other travellers like us on a bed and breakfast basis. Our budget accommodation is located only 15 mins. by bus from Venice Piazzale Roma (downtown area) and we are based in the area of Riviera Del Brenta, where all the famous Palladian Villas are. Our guests will be welcomed in a pleasant, familiar environment, enjoying all the comfort and the peace of a home with a private garden. From our home you can easily reach Venice, Padua, Treviso and the Dolomites Mountains. We speak fluent English and good French. Services: English & French speaking, a peaceful garden, Internet access, free bikes, barbeque available in the garden, information and tourist advice for the area, local swimming pool at 1 km. Advice on planning historical, natural, gastronomic and folkloristic itineraries. Bus tickets are available for sale at the house. We can also organise excursions to the Riviera del Brenta and entries in the Villas, for prices please enquiry when booking or on arrival. We can organise airport pick up from Venice Marco Polo: From 9.00-21.00 (day time) for euro 20.00 plus parking time (the parking fee at the airport) From 21.00-9.00 (nigh time) for euro 25.00 plus parking time (the parking fee at the airport) or from Mestre Train station for euro 15.00. If you are interested just send us the flight details/train time, call us when you arrive in Mestre train station and we will be there in 10 minutes. If you wish to be picked up at our bus stop, please make sure first to go to VENEZIA PIAZZALE ROMA TERMINAL (if you arriving by train get off at the end of the line VENEZIA SANTA LUCIA), and follow the instructions below for the bus. Let us know before you arrive the approx arrival time, and then just call us when you arrive at the bus stop by crossing the bridge (always by previous arrangement and within check-in times). PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO REACH US EXACTLY (YOU MIGHT GET LOST): By Bus: 1. FROM VENICE PIAZZALE ROMA BUS TERMINAL. There is a direct bus from Piazzale Roma/Venice, it is a bus number 53E DIRECTION DOLO/PADOVA, it runs at 25" and 55" of each hour., BUY YOUR TICKETS BEFORE GETTING ON THE BUS (you can purchase a 1day-2day-3day travel card according to your stay) 2.Ask to get off : " ORIAGO CENTRO – after the church – chemistry stop" (You must ask to stop because is a stop on request bus). 3. When you get off, you will see on the other side of the road a little footbridge. Cross it, call us on the phone and wait for us there, we will pick you up in less then 5 minutes. From VENICE MARCO POLO Airport: first catch the bus for Venice Piazzale Roma, BUY YOUR TICKETS BEFORE GETTING ON THE BUS. In Piazzale Roma there is a bus direct to us, you can catch it from Piazzale Roma. Follow the instructions above on how to reach us by bus. From TREVISO airport: there is a bus service from Treviso airport to Venice, you must catch this bus and get off at Mestre FS (train station), we can pick you up from there for euro 10.00 or alternatively get off in Venice Piazzale Roma (end of the line) where there is a direct bus to us. You can catch it from Piazzale Roma. Follow the instructions above as how to reach us by bus. By Car (GPS COORDINATES LAT.45:26:04N (45.43454), LONG.12:10:30E (12.17487): 1. From the motorway (interstate) A4 (MILANO-TRIESTE): if you are coming from Milan direction straight after the toll booth follow the signs for Ravenna (ss.309 romea) – Chioggia; if you are coming from Trieste or Belluno direction after the pay toll stay on the free motorway and follow it until you see the signs for Ravenna (ss.309 romea), keep following until you reach the exit for Ravenna. You will enter a roundabout. At the roundabout keep following the signs for Ravenna. 2. After about 2 km, you will reach a big roundabout. Do not follow the sign for ORIAGO instead continue following the direction for Ravenna. 3. After 2km you will reach a set of traffic (stop) lights where by going straight you go to Ravenna, turning left you go to Malcontenta and by turning right you go to Oriago. The turning on the right is Via Seriola Veneta (our road), follow this for 500m where you will arrive at a junction(intersection). On your right there will be Via Ca’ Balletto, on your left Via Sabbiona, go straight on into Via Seriola Veneta Destra (don't follow the road on the right). 4. After 500m you will reach a little bridge, Faronhof B&B is the house on the right. There is a sign with I LOVE B/B on the front door. |

ABOUT THE RIVIERA DEL BRENTA A strip of land along the river Brenta, which flows from Padua to Venice: gardens and gorgeous artistic villas are the landscape of The Brenta Riviera. It is made up of districts and green spots along the ancient course of a river linking Padua to Venice. A charming trip, which enchanted poets and travellers. Memories of this land were written by Lord Byron and Goethe, and by the Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, the scientist Galileo Galilei, the play writer Carlo Goldoni. In his poem "The Divine Comedy", the great poet Dante Alighieri mentiones the city of Oriago. The history of the Brenta Riviera began in the 15th-16th century, when rich Venetian families bought large estates and built villas where they spent the summertime and where they managed the land cultivation: they asked the best architects to design their villas and foresterie (guest houses) so gorgeous as not to miss their Grand Canal in Venice. So the Riviera del Brenta can be described as the "Grand Canal" sunk in the green of the villas parks and the countryside. The whole beauty of this land can be appreciated at its most by travelling by boat: "vaporettos" and "gondolas" in Venice Gran Canal, and the "Burchiello" and the "Battelli del Brenta" to travel down the river Brenta. The best known villas of the Riviera, departing from Malcontenta, are: Villa Foscari (by the architect Andrea Palladio); Villa Valmarana; Villa Widmann in Mira; Villa Angeli in Dolo; Villa Soranzo in Fiesso; Villa Pisani in Stra (the biggest and richest one), with frescoes by Tiepolo and Guarana, gardens and a famous labyrinth. |
