Atholwood has been extensively renovated and now offers luxury accommodation with 2 B&B suites situated in the main house. The Charlton and the Goodwood suite both offer sophistication and comfort, with king size beds, leather chairs, Sky TV, DVD, CD player, fridge, tea & coffee fascilities, balcony with stunning views, ensuite, and air- conditioning. The Cowdrey Apartment is separate from the main house. This luxurious self contained apartment is well appointed, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and lush leather lounge suite, king size bedroom with ensuite, shower, air-conditioning, Sky TV, CD player and pantry provisions. Outside the spacious balcony has stunning views of the Waimea estuary. The Gatehouse is a self contained cottage which caters for parties both large and small. The Gatehouse is situated at the entrance of the grounds, with it's own private patio, garden and BBQ area. The Gatehouse offers a few accommodation options. For 1-2 people the ground floor can be rented as one super king bedroom, with a fully equipped kitchen, living/dining area, shower and washing machine facilities. For 3-6 people an external staircase leads to two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom with shower. Set in 2.2 acres of stunning park like grounds with native trees and hidden pathways that borders on the estuary with often snow capped mountains as the back drop. Guests are invited to use the salt water swimming pool, spa, BBQ facilities and to enjoy the gardens. Ideally situated between Nelson and the Abel Tasman National Park, you can easily take advantage of one of New Zealand's most beautiful and sunniest provinces. Sample the areas rich culture with abounding local wineries, arts & crafts, and fine cuisine. Or experience Nelson's renowned outdoor lifestyle, with activities ranging from adventurous or tranquil. |

The Gatehouse is self contained. Downstairs has 1 super king bedroom, kitchen, lounge/dining, shower, washing machine facilities. An external staircase leads upstairs to a further 2 double rooms with a shared shower room. Private garden, patio, BBQ. Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $75.00. Extra children $75.00. The room caters for a maximum of 6 adults, and a maximum of 2 children but cannot exceed 6 guests in total. The following bedding is provided:

Directions from Nelson City, take SH6 past Richmond until you come to a roundabout, take the exit SH60 to Motueka, Abel Tasman National Park. Continue for 12km or about 10 minutes (look for sign post for Rimu Grove Winery) and Bronte Road East is the turning on the brow of the hill. After turning right down Bronte Road East continue for about 1km and Atholwood is sign posted on the right. |
