The bistro at the Lorne Hotel is the perfect place to take in and enjoy the magnificent views of the Lorne beach and inlet - look onto the bay from our bistro or rooftop beer garden. We serve a delicious variety of meals, accommodating even the youngest diners. Our Bistro is open 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm 7 days a week.

Getting There You can drive to the Great Ocean Road region from interstate on excellent highways and freeways. (MAP) From Sydney, you can take the Hume Freeway and then travel to Geelong via the Western Ring Road and Princes Freeway, making your connection with the Great Ocean Road. (This trip takes around 12 hours. Most travellers break their journey with an overnight stop.)

From Melbourne, Geelong is a 55-minute drive via the West Gate and Princes freeways. A network of highways also link regional centres to Geelong and various other points along the Great Ocean Road. The western gateway to the region is at Nelson, near the South Australian border. Excellent roads connect with the South Australian capital of Adelaide, 490km away. Cars and mobile homes are readily available for hire in the major cities.

Things To Do Lorne is truly one of the jewels of the Great Ocean Road. Nestled in a protected cove, it is enveloped by bush with a wealth of walking tracks and waterfalls to explore. Enjoy a walk along the promenade, experience the outdoor restaurants and cafes, or just stroll along the beach front and enjoy unique boutique shops and the Art Gallery.

The Lorne Hotel also provides an excellent restaurant, Sun deck beer garden which boasts spectacular views across the bay and the famous Bottom Bar for a friendly atmosphere or enjoy the live entertainment.
