At the Universal Peace Retreat & Spa we provide all the luxuries of a resort, coupled with optional yoga, massage and spa treatments. In this way, guests have the opportunity to work on their inner selves, whilst nurturing the physical self. The majestic mountain views provide the practitioners and guests with the ultimate backdrop to facilitate a very special outcome: your wellbeing. We are nestled inside the magical rainforest valley of the Mt Warning Caldera basin, just a short drive north of Byron Bay, and the Gold Coast airport. We are less than 10 mins drive from the base of Mt Warning. Our accommodation is Unique; each room is a sanctuary with its own modern bathroom, built-in robes and large windows looking to a tranquil rainforest view. Facilities: The crystal clear waters of the waterfall sunset pool are inviting indeed! It has majestic views of Mt Warning, and as the sun sets, the sky fills with stunning pinks and oranges. Every moment is different in this unspoilt paradise. Our dining area has a modern relaxed atmosphere with views of the creeks and lush rainforest terrain. Sit and relax as our chefs cook up healthy and delicious meals. A selection of local organic teas are always available, so sit back and put your feet up! Day Spa: Completely rejuvenate your spirit in our luxurious spa facilities. To add to the tranquillity of your Rainforest stay, treat yourself to a deeply nurturing spa treatment including massage, facials and other pampering packages...see our web page for more information. For real time out reward yourself with the the use of our spacious luxurious Day Spa Facilities. We have Sauna, Steam room, Float tank, Large swim spa, LA Jacuzzi, and Cold plunge. For an 'outdoor' spoil yourself experience, try our outdoor spas at night and star gaze as you relax. Our 20 metre swimming pool is also fully lit up at night. Experienced and Caring therapists are here to assist you in the relaxation process. Yoga & Meditation at the Temple: The Temple is a large octagonal shape (eight sides)building. It is used for yoga and meditation and hosts air conditioning, plasma screens surround sound system. Book a yoga session with Naomi and discover the benefits of this ancient practice for harmony and wellbeing. Further Information: Mt Warning also known as Wollumbin by the local indigenous people, is World Heritage Listed National Park. The very popular walk from the base of the mountain to the summit is 8.8 km, and on average takes approximately 4-5 hours, through sub'tropical rainforest. For those more adventurous, climb Mt Warning for a Dawn Sunrise experience. For those less inclined to attempt the climb, the Lyre Bird Walk is a 500 metre stroll from the parking area. Or Bushwalk through the Border Ranges and discover day use picnic areas, with spectacular views available at Bar Mountain, Blackbutts Lookout. There are a variety of walks in the park, from 50 metre strolls to 10 kilometre hikes, most starting from day picnic or camping areas. Also spotting the koala bears high up in the trees is a fun experience for all. |

| Getting There |
From Brisbane / Gold Coast Travel South on the Pacific Highway. At Oak Avenue interchange follow the signs for the "Tweed Valley Way" (this is the old Pacific Highway) to Murwillumbah. At the roundabout turn into Murwillumbah (you will cross over the Tweed River) and approach a second roundabout - go straight ahead. You then approach a third roundabout ('Sunnyside Mall'- Coles and Liqourland located within). Continue straight through this roundabout, then take the second road on the left 'Riverview Street'. The road will be signposted for Nimbin, Kyogle and Mt. Warning National Park. Travel aprox 10 mins to Braeside Drive, just before the town of Uki. Turn left into Breaside Drive then the second right is Bonny Doon Road, we are number 128. Directions from Byron Bay / Ballina NSW Travel North on the Pacific Highway. Look out for the signs for Ocean Shores / Murwillumbah and take this exit, follow signs towards Murwillumbah. This road will take you through the villages of Mooball & Burringbar. After crossing over the Burringbar Range take a left turn towards 'Stokers Siding'. Once in Stokers Siding, take a left turn over the railway line towards 'Uki'. At the end of the road turn right towards Murwillumbah. Take the second road to the right - Breaside Drive. Then take the second road on the right, Bonny Doon Road. We are number 128. |
