The ceilings are decorated with Irish sayings and the rooms have just enough memorabilia to pluck at the heartstrings of anyone who has a touch of Irish blood in their veins. In the heart of the vineyards, Harrigan’s offers superb 4-star accommodation with a unique style. Spectacular gardens, vineyards and mountains surround 48 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites, each with their own balcony or courtyard. Take time to relax around out heated swimming pool or perhaps try a wine or beer tasting in Harrigan’s Cellars. Voted Best Country Bottle Shop at the NSW Australian Hotels Association Awards for Excellence, 2005. Theres usually some toe-tapping tune to be heard in the bars and, if you hear someone singing a familiar tune, it could well be Bill Roche who named the pub Harrigans after the song of the same name from the musical Yankee Doodle Dandy. Harrigans all-day dining menu is structured so that you can order a la carte Irish dishes, or cook your own steaks and meats on the barbecue. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say and Harrigan's other NSW Australian Hotels Association award was for Best Bistro-Country. Season daily blackboard specials also add to the choice. Seating options give customers the choice of indoor dining or enjoying the space and freedom outside, perfect for families. Harrigans Cellars range includes over 130 varities of boutique and imported beers as well as spirits, local wines and the exclusive Roche Wines. Adding a new dimension to accommodation in the Hunter, Harrigans has 48 4-star guestrooms including eight suites and two self-contained family units. Directions on how to get to us (from Sydney CBD via CESSNOCK) Cross the Harbour via either the Bridge or Harbour Tunnel and follow all signs to Newcastle and North Coast via F3 freeway At Wyong you will notice a very big CALTEX service station on the left ¡V from here it is approximately a 50 minute drive into Cessnock Stay on F3 freeway straight all the way looking out for signs saying Vineyards via Cessnock Take the LEFT turn at Cessnock turnoff and follow this road looking out for other signs directing you to Cessnock Once past Mulbring there will be a LEFT exit directing you to Cessnock & Branxton This road will lead you directly into Cessnock along Aberdare Road At the end of Aberdare Road there is a set of traffic lights ¡V turn RIGHT into Vincent Street Follow Vincent street to the end and turn LEFT at traffic lights into Wollombi Road Turn RIGHT at the next set of traffic lights into Wine Country Drive (Cessnock swimming pool is on the left and McDonalds on the right) Follow Wine Country Drive until you see Cessnock Airport on the left. Take the next LEFT turn into Broke Road Follow Broke Road for approximately 3 kilometres until you reach a T-intersection Turn LEFT at this intersection into McDonalds Road and a quick RIGHT into Broke road The entrance to Harrigans is the third driveway on your left (approximately 1 kilometre from the corner) |

Nestled at the foothills of the Brokenback Ranges in the heart of the Hunter vineyards, is one of Australia¡¦s premier tourism destinations - Hunter Valley Gardens, the perfect place for visitors to stay, play and shop and as a meeting place and shopping area for locals. The atmosphere of this visionary 300-hectare development is a combination of elements inspired by Roche Group Pty Ltd, the family company of Bill and Imelda Roche. The Gardens The centrepiece of the property is the 25-hectares of spectacular international display gardens. The Hunter Valley Gardens are designed with sight, colour and fragrance very much in mind. Bill Roche has been personally involved in every aspect and detail, regularly walking the site to establish the positioning of features as well as plants and trees as well as deciding where seats should be placed, as he wants to make sure visitors to the gardens have every opportunity to enjoy them in comfort. Bill says, ¡§I have always loved the beauty of a well formed garden and the opportunity to share this with people from all over the world will be a great thrill.¡¨ Encompassing more than 8-kilometres of walking paths, each section of the garden blends so subtly into the other that you hardly notice the change in the plants and foliage until you come to features such as a column in the Italian Grotto topped by a statue of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of birds and animals. An impressive range of statuary has also been strategically placed throughout the themed gardens, which include a Lakes Walk, the classic European Formal Garden and the Chinese Garden. Visitors can relive their childhood with their favourite larger-than-life fairytale characters in the spectacular Children¡¦s Story Book Garden, where you can even join the Mad Hatter for a cup of tea! A lavish array of colour and scent is found in the Rose Garden, with more than eight thousand roses on display.
