Cairns City Backpackers Hostel is the ideal hostel: small, quiet and friendly, and best of all it is ideally located in a quiet backstreet just a short walk from the heart of Cairns and a 5 minute walk to Cairns Central Shopping Centre. With a maximum of only 60 guests it is easy to make lifelong friends here. We are not a party hostel, and have a quiet time/no drinking time from 10.30 pm to allow guests to get a good nights sleep. However, the free dinners at the Woolshed Pub will help save you money and let you party till late. Check out our free stuff that is included every night you stay here before reading on: -FREE restaurant meal every night! must be at least 18 yrs old). -FREE Tea and Coffee -FREE Tour and Travel information and advice -FREE book exchange Cairns City Backpackers Hostel consists of two fully renovated Queenslander houses loaded with character, and a tropical, fully landscaped garden which includes many grand old palm trees, a cute swimming pool and lots of hammocks and sun lounges for you to chill out in. The hostel also has a new sofa area to flop yourself into, and a billiard table to challenge your room mates. Naturally the hostel has full laundry and kitchen facilities and for keeping in touch with friends we have cheap internet at just $3 per hour, and don't forget to bring your laptops because we have wireless as well! Cairns City Backpackers Hostel offers clean and comfortable air conditioned single, double, twin, 4 and 6 bed dorms. Some have their own private shower facilities and all have fans. All rooms have fresh linen and towels are available free of charge. The hostel also hosts state of the art hi-tech security lockers for your important possessions. |

We provide a 24 hour check-in service but you need to contact us in advance if you are going to be arriving outside of reception hours so we can organize your key. Our reception is open from 7.30 am till noon, and between 4.30 pm and 9 pm. |

| Getting There |
We provide a 24 hour check-in service but you need to let us know in advance if you are going to arrive outside of reception hours so we can organize your key. Our reception is open from 7:30 am till noon, and between 4:30 pm and 9 pm. We do not offer a free pick-up to the hostel but there is a shuttle bus from the airport which costs $10/$15 for one/two persons from the airport, or a taxi will cost you about $20 from the airport and $10 from the bus terminals. The shuttle bus runs 24 hours/day. If you wish to walk from the bus terminals we are a 15 minute walk from the premier bus terminal and a 30 minute walk from the greyhound terminal. If you are coming in your own car we can be found at 274 Draper Street directly behind Cairns Central shopping centre.A shuttle bus from the airport costs $10 per person and a taxi about $20 per vehicle. From the Greyhound Bus terminal it is about a 30 minute walk, or a $9 taxi ride. |

| Things To Do |
Where to start? The Great Barrier Reef, Cape Tribulation/Daintree National Park rainforests, Green Island, Atherton Tablelands, the Kuranda scenic railway and cablecar skyrail. White water rafting, skydiving, bungy jumping, scenic flights, horseriding....the list goes on. We have a comprehensive tour booking facility at the hostel, with over 30 reef trips on offer. The staff are very knowledgeable, and have all been on most of the trips so can advise which ones are best for you and book them for you. We are also kept informed of last minute specials on tours so can offer you discounted trips. |
