The McLaren Vale Motel is a family owned and operated motel located within the heart of the world renowned wine region of Mclaren Vale. With 25 modern and spacious 3.5 To 4 star ground floor units & 12 New 4.5 star Deluxe studios set in a tropical garden setting the motel offers romantic, comfortable and quiet suites where you can bath, shower or relax together. The motel is located 39 kilometres south of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. The area enjoys a Mediterranean type climate, being situated between the southern Mt. Lofty Ranges and the sea. These conditions are ideal for the production of the world class wines produced in the area. Most units have Queen size beds and most Deluxe rooms with King size beds, remote control 51cm colour television, VHS video recorders, fridge, reverse cycle air-conditioning, electric blankets, microwave ovens, toaster, tea/coffee/milo making facilities, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, direct dial phones with Internet connection points and parking at the door. The six refurbished executive suites have King beds, spas and his and hers showers. An inground saltwater sola heated pool with adjacent BBQ area which can be enclosed for wind protection and Surrounded by palms and sun lounges. Two disabled rooms are also available with ramps, handrails, showers on a hose, remote televisions and lots of room, these suites are great for someone in a wheelchair or the frail or older person. Palm Court is the place to be at sunset. Sit in comfort with your partner and a bottle of wine, surrounded by tropical palms under sails, and watch the sun setting over the vines. The alfresco area by the central fountain, is bordered by roses, and makes a beautiful spot to relax with a cappuccino or have your breakfast delivered. Fancy some lunch or dinner? There are many fine restaurant's and cafe's within walking distance, 5 of which are within 700 metres. No need to worry about drinking and driving! |

The McLaren Vale Motel Cnr Main Rd & Caffrey St McLaren Vale By Car - Directions from the Adelaide CBD Exit the city via ANZAC Highway (A5) and turn left onto Main South Road (A13). Follow Main South Road (A13) until (**see Southern Expressway) you see another overhead sign at Old Noarlunga you will then via Left onto Victor Harbor Rd for approx 7km when you see a sign to turn left into Main Rd McLaren Vale, drive past the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitior Centre (on your left) and the McLaren Vale Motel is the Next turn Right. ** Southern Expressway (M2) If the Southern Expressway (M2) is open (reversible freeway) take this right turn off and take the freeway to the end. This will take you direct to Old Noarlunga. Southern Expressway to McLaren Vale open times: Monday to Friday 2PM to 12:30AM Saturday to Sunday 2AM to 12:30PM By Train & Bus Trains depart the Adelaide Railway Station (on North Tce) for Noarlunga Centre every 25 minutes (Mon - Sat) and every 30 minutes (Sun). Take the Noarlunga Centre line train and get off at the last stop, Noarlunga Centre. Catch the Southlink Coach Route 751 (5 return trips Mon - Fri) to McLaren Vale and step off at the McLaren Vale Visitors Centre stop. The Motel is then a short walk south and is located at the next corner on the right hand side of Main Rd. Train timetables are available from TransAdelaide and bus timetables from Southlink. By Coach Premier Stateliner Coaches depart the Adelaide Central Bus Station (111 Franklin St, Adelaide) for McLaren Vale (4 return trips Mon - Fri, 2 on a Sat and 1 on Sun). Contact Premier Stateliner for a timetable. By Bicycle A bicycle track runs parallel to the Southern Expressway from Bedford Park to the McLaren Vale Visitors Centre. From the Centre it is a short ride down Main St to the motel located at the next corner on the right hand side of Main Rd. |

The Motel is ideally situated as a base for visiting local wineries and beaches or touring the Fleurieu Peninsula in general. 40 minutes to Hahndorf, Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Glenelg, Adelaide and the Casino and about 55 minutes to Cape Jervis (departure to Kangaroo Island). Being located within one of Australia's premier wine regions there are many things to do and see, including: McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitors Centre. The McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitor Centre is a tourist information and booking centre and is located only 200 metres from the motel The Centre provides tour bookings, wine tastings and sales, gift shop, cafe and conference facilities. Wineries McLaren Vale is recognised as one of Australia's premium grape growing regions containing many wineries with cellar door sales. Wineries include: Hardy's Tintara, Chapel Hill, Andrew Garrett, Wirra Wirra, d'Arenberg, Haselgrove, Hamilton, Horndale, Patritti, Tatachilla, Fox Creek Wines and Rosemont Estate. Most winery cellar doors are open 10am to 5pm daily (except for Good Friday and Christmas Day). Art & Craft Shops Shops and gallery's including Dridan Fine Arts, Willunga Antiques are also located within McLaren Vale and surrounding towns. The Fleurieu Biennale, a national visual arts festival, is also held in the region. Plant Nurseries There are many plant nurseries in the area and a special Gardener's Trail is available that allows you to visit some specialist nurseries set amongst the spectacular scenery. These nurseries include Ross Roses, Hillside Herbs, Poolmans Nursery, Richardson's Garden Nursery, Southern Native Plant Nursery, Perry's Fruit & Nut Nursery, Yundi Protea World, Old Willunga Hill Geranium Nursery, Bergonia Farm, Wagners Rose Nursery and The Fern Forest Nursery. Restaurants Whilst touring the region, why not tempt yourself at a range of fine local restaurants and eateries. The Barn or the Awganix Restaurants are only 200m away from the motel, while the Red Gum Chinese, Hotel McLaren with pokies, Market 190, and Oscar's Diner are all within 700 metres of the Motel (see the location map for details). The famous Star of Greece Cafe at Port Willunga, Russell's at Willunga and the Salopian Inn at McLaren Vale are located a short drive away. Gourmet Food Along with producing some of Australia's best wine, the region produces delicious gourmet food.Every Saturday morning the famous willunga farmers market from 8am 12noon. Experience the refreshing Gels at Medlow Fine Gels & Chocolate Factory, the premium fruit at the Avocado Farm, Fruitwise and the McLaren Vale Olive Grove, nuts and related products on the Almond Train and at the Yummy Nuts Market, the tempting jams and sauces from Lacewood, chocolates at The Chocolate Box and turkey products at the Aldinga Turkey Kitchen. Heritage Features The McLaren Vale region is steeped in heritage with its history going back to 1839 when the surveyor John McLaren finished surveying the district. Examples of its heritage are still around and a new Heritage Walk allows visitors to explore the history of McLaren Vale and its surrounds. The walk starts at the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitor Centre located only 200 metres from the motel. Beaches Some of Australia's finest beaches, with long stretches of clean sand, beautifully coloured cliffs, spectacular reefs and conservation reserves, are located only a short drive from the motel. Both Moana and Sellick's beach are located only 8km from the motel, while the nudist Maslin Beach is even closer.
