Buses Bus network in Manila is extensive and efficient. It goes to the various cities as well as the suburbs. Car Rental An international license is required to rent a car. Cars can be rented with or without drivers. Jeepneys The most popular method of transportation in Manila is the jeepney. The jeepney is a colourful and festive-looking vehicle, designed after the American jeeps used in World War II. Jeepney travel is great for short trips. Jeepneys run through all major roads in Manila. Destinations are displayed on the windshields and the sides of the jeepneys. Railway The LRT (Light Rail Transit) runs from the North part of the Metro Manila which also stops at various areas such as Blumentritt, Quiapo, UN Avenue and Taft Avenue. Tickets are available at all stations. The MRT (Metro Rail Transit) provides transportation throughout the whole stretch of EDSA. Taxis Taxis are run by meters and are relatively cheap. However, fares should be negotiated beforehand if the drivers refuse to put on the meter.
