| Getting There |
The hotel is 50 minutes away from the El.Venizelos airport and costs around 30 euros. We wouldn't propose to you to come to the hotel by car since the hotel is located in a mainly pedestrian area and parking is expensive and hard to find. In case you 'll come by car, follow the Attiki avenue to Elefsina and take the exit no 11 (Kifissias) to Athens. Then follow Kifissias avenue which turns to Vassilissis Sofias. Be careful, the street after a while has the name Vassileos Konstantinou. Turn right to Vassilissis Olgas and then left to Vassilissis Amalias. The hotel is on your lft handside just by Dionysiou Aeropagitou. Alternatively you can take the metro from the airport to Aigaleo. Get off at Syntagma and take the red line to Agios Dimitrios. Akropolis is the station where you get off. The hotel is 150 meters away. For your transportations you can use the tram which takes you to the Athens beaches. The stop is 5 minutes on foot away. Two minutes away you can also find a bus stop with many lines to choose from. |

Museums and arceological sites: Acropolis and Parthenon: Acropolis is the Sacred Point of Athens. Acropolis has been habited since the neolithic period. During the Classical period (450-330 b.C) 3 great temples were built. Parthenon, Erehthio and the Temple of Niki, which are all dedicated to the godess Athina, as a virgin, as Poliada and as Apteros Niki, corresponginly. Parthenon was built during 447-438 b.C. and was decorated between 438 and 432 b.C. The decision for the edification was made from Periklis and in charge of the works was the sculptor Fidias along with the architects Iktinos and Kallikratis. The temple is of Doric Order and it is made totally by Pentelicon marbles. In the interior of the temple was situated the golden ivory statue of Athina, sculpture made by Fidias. (5 minutes on foot from the hotel, tel.2103214172) Acropolis Museum: The Acropolis Museum is one of the most important museums in the world. It hosts masterpieces of one of the greatest times of the Greek anceint history, which were dedicated to godess Athina. Adrianos Arch and Temple of Olympian Zeus: Adrarian's Arch was built in 131 AD by the Roman Emperor Adrianos. The Arch used to devide the city in two parts, the old and the new. It's 18 meters high and follows the Corinthian order. Adrianos was an admirer of Greece and constructed numerous other buildings in Athens. It's him that finished the works of the Olympius Zeus Temple in 129 AD. The Temple had 104 Corinthian order columns, from which only 15 stand nowdays. In the Temple Adrianos placed two huge statues, one of Zeus and one of himself, of the same size. No part of them was ever found. Museum of Greek Folk Art: The museum of Greek Folk Art is a place where guests can see various objects distinctive of the greek tradition as embroideries, webs and many others (Kidathinaion 17, Plaka, tel.2103229031) Heirakleidon Museum: Heirakleidon Museum, Experience in Visual Arts, was founded in 2004 with aim to present artists ehich played and play a great role in art. The museum except its permanent collections hosts and excibitions, mainly pictorial ones, but also musical and literature meetings, book presentations, scientific galas and many more.(Heirakleidon 16, Thisseion, tel.2103461981) Restaurants: Ermou & Asomaton: (Ermou 137, Asomaton Square, tel.210 32463337-9) Greek cuisine in a chic environment in one of the most beautiful spots in Athens. Yoga Bala: (Riga Palamidou 5-7, Psirri, tel 2103311335) Indian cuisine in a restaurant that has adopted the chic maharanic ideas. In the ground floor you can have your drink at the bar. Tapas y Mas: (Kakourgodikeiou 6, Psirri, tel.2103230839)) Spanish cuisine with little treats and paelia, open noon and night, modern and pleasant environment. Kuzina: (Adrianou 9, t??.2103240133) Greek cusine in a simple and elegant environemnt. Caffeterias and bars: The area surrounding the hotel gathers the most intense nightlife of the city. You can chose between many bars, clubs and caffeterias. Cozy bar with a big variety of music is Stavlos in Thiseeio, if you need something more quiet and simple you can visit Inoteka at Avissinias Square. Soul is a bar with a wonderful garden and loud rock, latin and soul music and in Psirri you can have a drink at Astro or Alhimistis. Shopping: In Plaka area, 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, you can find a big variety of shops with traditional items, memoires and of course clothes and footwear. 10 minutes away on foot is the Ermou shopping street with great variety of clothes, footgear and big cosmetic and decoration stores . One of the trendiest markets, 20 minutes from the hotel on foot, is Kolonaki area, where you can find all the famous brands of pret a porter or haute cuture and anything that has to do with footgear, decoration, gifts and many others. Banks: You can find branches of all the major banks all over the surrounding area. |
