Hotel Villa Mercede is located on the slopes of the Castelli Romani in a quiet and panoramic area, just 10 km from the G.R.A., 15 minutes from Ciampino airport and just about 30 minutes from Fiumicino’s airport Leonardo da Vinci. The hotel has 67 rooms, each of them provided with private bathroom (bath and shower), direct phone and satellite TV. Some rooms are air-conditioned. During the warm season our guests may rest on the terrace overlooking Rome and nearby our private swimming pool. On ground floor the restaurant Balubino has a large choice of local and national dishes. It seems a really good reason to take its own time to taste local flavours, making a break during or at the end of the day. Perfect for business lunches, gala dinners and special events. Frascati rises on a little hill, not far from the "Tusculum" ruins, the ancient town destroyed by the Romans in 1191. The survivors settled down in Frascata (modern Frascati). The elegant villas constellating the Tuscolani hills were built by the élite of papal Curia , the powerful aristocratic families who from the XVI Century on loved to establish their summer residence there. Villa Torlonia(a public park since 1954) is one of the favourite places during the Summer period. Aldobrandini's stables Museum, better known as “Frascatino”, have been opened up on 8th December 2000 renewed under Massimiliano Fuksias’ plan and design that kept all the old architecture intact, leaving the main structures and original wall materials. A really interesting experience among archaeology, modern art and architecture. After a little shopping at the Frascati Point (just some souverirs of the beautiful city) you can also take a walk among the streets rich in elegant boutiques and handcraft shops, tasting a fabulous handmade ice cream (we definitely suggest zabaione flavour). You may visit Villa Aldobrandini's gardens, where every summer we have an international music and art Festival (Tuscolana Summer). From the hill the view of Rome is matchless. |
