Whangarei Harbourside Bed & Breakfast, comfortable family friendly accommodation.Quiet and peaceful. A good base to start your Northland adventure and also to explore the beautiful and scenic Whangarei Heads area with ocean beaches, natural coastline, walks, the Pines golf course just a few minutes away and arts and craft galleries. Day trips to the Bay of Islands and Northland's coastal areas and attractions are also easily accessible from Top Storey B&B. We are a 14km drive East of Whangarei city, 2.5 hour drive from Auckland and 1.5 hour drive to the Bay of Islands. At Top Storey B&B we have 2 units available. Top Storey is a large, self contained flat with harbour views and great sunsets. This unit has a lounge area with a pool table, double bedroom with queen size bed, plus double bedroom with two single beds. Kitchenette with self catering facilities, toilet with vanity unit and bathroom for your private use. Air conditioning in summer heating in winter Sleeps four. Garden unit is also self contained, open plan setup. Opens onto conservatory and garden. Bedding is 1xQueen and 2xKing Singles. Kitchenette with self catering facilities and own bathroom. Sleeps 4. Children are most welcome at Top Storey B&B. The Garden Unit in particular is suitable for children as it is fenced and safe for children to play in the garden. Portacot and High Chair available on request Each accommodation has television, DVD, radio/CD player, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities. We also provide a good breakfast - Continental or Cooked. This is included in our price. Evening meals are extra by arrangement. Vegetarian can be catered for. Beach and walks just two minutes away. We have a large garden with bromeliads - native trees and plants - fish and eel to feed. Friendly pets are welcome in the Garden Unit. | Getting There |
Coming into Whangarei from the south (Auckland) follow signs to Town Basin/ Whangarei Heads. Coming down from the North follow signs to Whangarei Heads look for moored yachts, fishing boats etc). Following Whangarei Heads signs will find you crossing over a bridge onto Riverside Drive. Carry on 7kms to Onerahi Suburb and past shops and New World Supermarket to Hammer Hardware shop where a left turn is taken onto Whangarei Heads Road. Proceed a futher 7kms along Whangarei Heads Road (mostly along the Harbour edge). Turn right at the top of the first hill into Scott Road. There is a B&B sign. Follow the road straight ahead and keep going down the hill until you see a blue sign with Top Storey on it and the number 73. If you end up at the beach you have gone too far! See you Soon! |

| Things To Do |
There are several day trips available: The Bay of Islands - Russell and Paihia and Kerikeri are all only an hour and a half's drive away. They can be reached by scenic routes or main roads. To Dargaville on the west coast, an hours drive, and then on to Waipoua Forest - huge kauri trees. This could be combined with the must see Matakohe Kauri Museum bursting with interest and world renowned is half an hour further from Dargaville. We have had visitors who have driven right to the top of the Island to CapeReinga and back in a day! Whangarei city has the Whangarei Falls and The Reed Memorial park with a high board walk through Kauri trees and native bush. The Clapham Clock museum is worth a visit at the Town Basin. the Town Basin is very attractive with its yachts and quayside restaurants and cafes, glass gallery, art and good shops., Explore the beautiful and scenic Whangarei Heads area with its natural coastline. Glorious Ocean beaches - all in our peninsular - 20 minutes drive away. Go to Urquaht's bay, walk over to Smugglers Cove with white sand and delicious swimming. There are many walks in the area suitable for all levels of fitness. Climb Mt Manaia with spectacular views over Whangarei Harbour and well beyond. Golf just a few minutes away at the Pines in a spectacular setting. Whangarei has another 3 golf courses only 30 minutes from us. Sherwood, Northland and Whangarei - Mt Denby. There are good restaurants locally a short drive and in Whangarei City. |
