The main international gateway for Northland is Auckland. For international visitors, transfer to Air New Zealand Link domestic flights or take a charter coach service or hire a car. By Road: Travel the Twin Coast Discovery Highway, a world class touring route which leaves from and returns to Auckland. If travelling by car you are only 3-4 hours drive away. By Air: There are 3 airports - Whangarei, Kerikeri, Kaitaia, all serviced by Air New Zealand Link. Flight time from Auckland to Whangarei is 30 minutes and Kerikeri to is 40 minutes. There are charter services and hire care companies located in these areas. |

Footprints Waipoua Twilight Encounter is an eco & cultural tour guided by local Maori who use songs & myths to bring life to the Waipoua Forest. On the way you will visit 'Te Matua Ngahere' - the father of the forest and 'Tane Mahuta' - the tallest Kauri tree in New Zealand. Crossings Hokianga Harbour Cruise takes you on a historical journey down the harbour. Once again guided by local Maori this tour takes you to the highlights along the beautiful Hokianga Harbour. Sandboarding is a sport enjoyed by children & adults alike. Take a 5 minute trip on the 'Hokianga Express' to where the sand dunes await you. If it is recreational fishing that you are after ask our friendly staff where the best spot to fish off the rocks is or a fishing charter is just a phone call away. |
