Inverell is scenically situated on the Macintyre River. Located on the Gwydir Highway on the western edge of the New England Tablelands. Inverell is 489km South West of Brisbane and 675km North West of Sydney. Travellers can arrive in Inverell by one of the many coach services travelling to Inverell, including CountryLink, and McCafferty's. |

Parking within the motel is supplied although it is not undercover but shaded by the motel itself. The area is safe although locking your car is recommended. |

Inverell is a mixed farming district, where the main crops are wheat, oats, barley, grain, sorghum and oilseed crops. Sheep & cattle graze mostly on natural pastures, supplemented with lucerne and forage crops. -Go fossicking for sapphires and other gems at several places around the city.(Inverell is the supplier of 80% of the worlds sapphires.) -Stretch your legs in Goonoowigall Bushland Reserve, a unique wilderness area that supports some 120 species of native birds. Explore the marked walking trails and look out for Thunderbolts Rock and the remains of a Chinese settlement. -Take a drive through the countryside and visit local vineyards and olive groves. -Check out the art, crafts and woodturning at some of the town's galleries. |
