The moment you step foot inside the enchanting Kingsgate Hotel Brydone Oamaru you will be transported to another time, a gentler, more gracious time where a soaring staircase, grand chandeliers and ornate interiors represent the epitome of fine accommodation. Built with carved Oamaru Limestone in 1881, the Kingsgate Hotel Brydone Oamaru has over a century of proud history. We have 49 rooms and junior suites with 4 differing room types to suit most requirements. Over 50% or our rooms receiving refurbishment with major renovations on three suites and three Superior plus rooms. The beautiful architecture from this era has been enhanced by incorporating today’s modern features and warm colours. All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, Sky TV, guest laundry & dry cleaning service available 6 days a week & electric blankets. Ample free car parking available. Two of the suites have further luxury added by the spa bath, fantastic décor, space and comfort. In the Pacific wing we have 34 rooms with a mixture of King, double and twin rooms available. Our restaurant opens from 6.30am daily, pull up a seat in our bar or restaurant to enjoy the great ambience, service, food and beverage catering for all tastes. |

Oamaru is nestled on the South Island’s east coast. We are located 3 hours south of Christchurch and 1.5hour north of Dunedin on the main highway 1. Daily bus travels through Oamaru. |

Centrally located on Thames street with Elm trees lining the road into main street of Oamaru township, we are within a very easy walking distance to our wonderful historic buildings and churches that stand proud all around the area. A short drive will take to you view either of the Blue or Yellow Colony or to the Historic Homesteads and Estates. We have eco tourism with the Blue and Yellow Penguin colony, our Historic Precinct, Museums, Art galleries, Public gardens, golf courses, Aquatic Centre, restaurants/bars and specialist shops along with the Whitestone Cheese Factory, tramping, Moeraki Boulders and fishing caters for all. |
