Idyllic, Pristine, Tranquil. Maureen & Graeme Gill are the proud new owner/Managers of Pelican Sands Scamander. We are nestled in the heart of the magnificent north east coast of Tasmania right on the beachfront at the mouth of the Scamander River. Located on the southern tip of the Bay of Fires with the beauty of Binnalong Bay and just north of Bicheno & Swansea, the area abounds in natural delights and some truly breathtaking scenery. Miles of pristine white sandy beaches with clean, clear turquoise waters are yours to enjoy. You can stroll along the beach, have a picnic, surf the waves or swim in the lagoon at the front of the property. Or if you are more energetic you can take one of the kayaks and paddle the reaches of the Scamander River and enjoy the bushland scenery. For those who enjoy fishing, the Scamander River has a reputation for excellent bream fishing with salmon and flathead aplenty off the beach. Day trips which are an easy drive will take you through some lovely countryside, visit Pyengana Cheese Factory, taste some award winning cheeses, visit waterfalls and National Parks. Perhaps a round of golf at our local club or enjoy the waterfront reserves and well marked walking tracks to view the abundant birdlife. Our units are tastefully refurbished “boutique” style waterfront queen suites and family apartments. All are fully self contained with high quality finishes and inclusions for a relaxing and indulgent holiday experience. The Queen Suites and 2 Bedroom Apartments have beautiful linen, the softest towels and magnificent views. The grounds are spacious and landscaped, with picnic tables right on the waterfront. The swimming pool is heated, there is a children’s playground, BBQ’s for our guests and we have an excellent wine list as we are licensed. Local restaurants for guests who want a break from cooking. Pelican Sands is the holiday destination where you come to unwind and relax. Families and couples all enjoy the beautiful location and peaceful surroundings. Pelican Sands enjoys a truly unique and beautiful waterfront location. We endeavour to provide you with a relaxing and memorable holiday experience, one that you will want to experience again. We will be establishing a new restaurant on site, ready for the 08-09 season, until then, come & enjoy or hospitality & we will wnjoy meeting you. Travelling by Car: Travel along Tasman Highway until you enter Scamander. The Tasman Highway converts into Scamander Avenue once you enter Scamander. We are located at 157 Scamander Avenue right on the Waterfront. |

| Things To Do |
The north east coast of Tasmania has many wonderful attractions, national parks, walks, museums and local history, surfing, fishing, boat charter, wildlife parks, penguin rookery tours, wineries, cheese tasting, deep sea fishing charters, and fabulous restaurants all located within an easy drive from Pelican Sands Scamander. A round of golf or a game of tennis can be enjoyed at the local sports complex. Hendersons Lagoon at the front of the property is a haven for birdwatchers and Winifred Curtis Scamander Reserve has many well maintained walking tracks again abounding with birdlife. Relaxing is high on the agenda here at Pelican Sands. You can't help but unwind. The location is second to none on the coast. |
