Relax in the garden hot-tub, sit on the verandah with a glass of wine and gaze at the stars and snow-capped mountains, or enjoy our lounge for cosy evenings next to the woodfire. Known as Old Maud Foster's place after the original owner, Nikau Lodge was built in 1925. The glow of native Rimu and Matai is everywhere, and the warm burgundi and yellow colours give to the place a cosy homely feeling... Seven rooms : 1 King/Twin Ensuite, 5 Queen Ensuite, 1 single with private bathroom A nice garden with lots of flowers and a hot-tub Five minutes walk to Kaikoura's main street - off street parking - Free broadband lnternet access - Satellite TV in the lounge - Free tea/Coffee and TV in rooms - Continental and Full Cooked Breakfast Qualmark 4 Star rating - a recent clients comment- " Fantastic B & B still have memories of this some years after visiting and judging by the most recent review it hasn't changed. They used to serve fresh warm banana muffins every day for breakfast along with the usual spread and the views from our room were staggering. Wonderful memories hope to return one day..." |

| Getting There |
As you come into Kaikoura from the South follow the sign to Picton (not to town). You will head up a hill and at the brow of the hill turn right @ the sign for Hospital & B&B. You cannot miss Nikau Inn, just look for the Lodge on top of the hill. There’s a sign at the gate. From the North, head through town, and as you are approaching the top of the hill on State Highway 1, Nikau Lodge is on your left in Deal St ( look for the big yellow sign) |
