Stylish 4½ star (self rated) accommodation, luxury cottages with spectacular mountain views hidden amongst a chestnut grove in the Magical Wandiligong Valley just 5 mins from Bright. Rates include hamper breakfast - Bacon, eggs, yoghurt, local juice, assortments of cereals, jams, teas, and coffees. Abby’s and Bonnie’s Cottages are identical. These designer cottages are absolutely delightful. The large alfresco style kitchen has two French doors that open on to the deck inviting the outside in! In the cosy lounge a wood fire continually burns throughout the winter months. Nothing better than to kick off your shoes and fire gaze on the large comfy couch. On the mezzanine floor relax and enjoy the fantastic valley views while you soak in the luxury spa. Only the birds could peep! There are blinds for those who prefer! A comfy king size bed which is sure to be one of your best nights sleep. The serenity of the Magical Wandiligong Valley welcomes you. Knox Farm Cottage was the original house on the property. Because of the Magical Views we built our home to the other side of the cottages. We share the same roof line, but we are totally private entities. This was our first cottage and it was a runaway success. Enormous luxury corner spa , just a stone throw from the comfy king size bed. The cottage has an open plan for modern living with a quaint at home feel. What a few of our guests have had to say.... Getting Here From Wangaratta: Follow the great Alpine road past the townships of Myrtleford and Porepunkah when in Bright township travel over Morses Creek Bridge 500 meters turn right into Churchill Avenue 2km (approx) there will be an bend in the road that brings you on to another road. Turn left to the Wandiligong Valley 5km (approx). Look for Red Post Office Box and turn left into Kaighins Lane Knox Farm Cottage is on the left had side of white cottage in front of you Abby’s Cottage is on the right Bonnie’s Cottage is 100 meters down the laneway passed Abby’s Cottage. From Harrietville: Follow The Great Alpine Road into the township the Bright. The Bright Chalet is on the right hand side travel down the road approx 1 km Look for Churchill avenue and Wandiligong sign turn left. 2km (approx) there will be a bend in the road that brings you on to another road. Turn left to the Wandiligong Valley. same as above. Bright is located on the Great Alpine Road (B500) in North East Victoria, Australia. The town has a population of about 2500 and is nestled in the valley of the Ovens River surrounded by the hills and mountains of the Alpine High Country. The Great Alpine Road is a sealed road from Wangaratta to Bairnsdale over the high country. Bright is approximately 3 ½ hours drive from Melbourne, 5 hours from Canberra and 7 hours from Sydney. The quickest and easiest drive to Bright from Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra is via the Hume Highway (M31) then turning onto the Great Alpine Road (B500) near Wangaratta. Bright is a 45 minute drive from the Hume Highway at Wangaratta. If coming from Sydney or Canberra you can also turn at Albury for Yackandandah then Myrtleford to Bright. Some visitors like to take the scenic route. Try one of these alternatives, but allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the drive. From Melbourne this can be: Via the Princes Highway (B1) to Bairnsdale and then Great Alpine Road over the high plains to Bright. A stunning drive over the top of the high country passed the ski fields of Mt Hotham with views over Mt Feathertop and to Mt Buffalo. (In winter chains are required from Omeo to Harrietville and can be hired in Omeo and dropped in Harrietville.) Via Healsville, Alexandra, (or Whittlesea, Yea) then on to Mansfield, Whitfield, Lake Buffalo and Myrtleford. A winding scenic route through some isolated rural areas and with some gravel road driving. |

The Alpine Valley of North East Victoria are surrounded by the peaks of Mt Buffalo, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek and our location is a hop skip and a jump to Bright. Our ideal location offers unlimited access to activities and attractions. Bright is a stunning Alpine Village renowned for its beauty. “A town for All Seasons” Near by wineries, snow fields and Alpine National Parks. Indulge in our award winning restaurants and cafe’s. Get the heart pumping try Paragliding, microlighting or a scenic fight. Visit our many art galleries and antique and second shops between Bright, Beechworth & Yackandandah you are sure to find a treasure, or spoil yourselves with an in house massage. Enjoy the many river walks along the Ovens River, Morse’s Creek or the Buckland River. We have bikes available for the more adventurous for cycling trips on the Murray to Mountain Rail Trail. There’s gold panning and fishing, skiing, tobogganing, snow boarding. Scenic drives and romantic lazy days to just kick back read a book on the elevated deck, soak up the sunshine, watch the action of the Paragliders & Hang Gliders on mountains near by or just sit and listen to the birdlife. |
