Picton is the perfect place to base a holiday or as a start point for the Queen Charlotte Track. It is also the first port of call for visitors travelling on an interisland ferry from Wellington to the South Island. The area is rich in maritime and Maori history, which can be explored at Picton’s museum with its many historical artefacts. Picton has a fine selection of arts and crafts outlets and many cafés where you can sit outdoors and enjoy the sunny atmosphere. |
