The property has 11 motel rooms, both 1 and 2 bedroom and 16 cabins. The motel rooms are a good quality 3 star AAA rated, and is a member of the 'Budget' accommodation chain. The rooms are fully self-catering with a full kitchen and bathroom, ideal for a family group and the budget conscious. The motel rooms are in two blocks with views over Bass Strait or toward the town and sea views. The cabins are detached and in a pleasant treed environment with ascending views over Bass Strait. All are self-contained with their own kitchen and bathroom. Guests can choose between the standard cabin, fitted with double bed and two or three bunks, or the deluxe two bedroom cabins with queen bed and a bunk with lower double bed and an upper single. All motel rooms and cabins have refrigerators and colour tv's. Burnie Ocean View Motel is situated 3km from the city centre enjoying a quiet environment away from the bustle and noice of the city and wharves, yet close enough to enjoy all the services offered in Burnie within a couple of minutes. The motel is situated opposite sandy Burnie Beach a wonderful beach for fishing, walking, penguin watching, swimming and generally exploring. A stroll along the beach will take you right into the heart of Burnie. If the weather turns a bit chilly and you still would like some exercise then our indoor heated pool (not open in winter) is the answer and the grounds of the motel (nearly 5 acres) makes a great jogging track. |

| Getting There |
Burnie Ocean View Motel is 1 hour 45 minutes west of Launceston and just 35 minutes from the berth of Spirit of Tamania at Devonport. We are situated on the Bass Highway, 3 km from the Burnie city centre on the Bass Highway. Going west on the Bass Highway you will go through Cooee, the first suburb from the CBD, (easily reconizable by the new car showrooms) When Bass Strait appears again on you right go through the traffic lights and we are next door to the Burnie High School that you will find on your left. If you are approaching by the Murchison Highway from Queenstown and Strahan, turn right onto the Bass Highway, pass the township of Somerset on your right and we are located on your right before the High School. |

Car Parking is provided for motel units and cabins. Also catered for are boats and larger work vehicles, by prior notice. Guests are invited to use the on site car wash facilities. All vehicle parking is inclusive in the tariff. Motorcycles can be parked off the road at the door of the cabins for added security. |

Burnie Ocean View Motel is situated opposite the beautiful Burnie Beach ideal for swimming, fishing, sun baking and exploring. The beach is a penguin habitat and each evening the penguins return after a day foraging at sea. In Burnie shoppers will be delighted with the choice of shops from Woolworths and Coles to a great range of boutique style shops and antique and novelty shops. Burnie boasts a great cinema complex,regular live shows and visiting artists at various locations and a lively arts and crafts community. Restaurants cafes and pubs are well catered for for everybodies taste from Italian, Chinese, Indian, Aussie pub, McDonalds, KFC, fish & Chip restaurants and fine dining. Burnie has a penguin interpretation centre which operates each evening at twilight with penguin habitat tours. October is a busy month with the Burnie 10 charity run, Wynyard Tulip Festivale, Art and Entertainment in the 'Burnie Shines' festival. Other attraction include Emu Valley Rhododendron garden, Annsleigh Gardens, Lactos Cheese factory, Creative Paper, Burnie Art Gallery, Pioneer Village Museum, Fern Glade, Burnie Park,bowling, swimmming a marvellous beach and much more.
