The home is one of the most significant buildings in the community, listed by the Tasmanian Heritage Council for its structural and townscape associations being important to the community’s sense of place and the first home in Tasmania powered by hydro electricity. Soothe yourself, taking in breathtaking views of the lakes and natural waterfall in our main street. Delve into the past at the museum and stamper mill. Relax whilst trout fishing in the lakes surrounding the residence. Enjoy a round of golf or explore the old Mount Bischoff Mine site. Don’t rush, our beautiful Northwest attractions such as Cradle Mountain, Stanley “The Nut”, Tarkine World Heritage Area, Dismal Swamp, Tasmazia, Village of Lower Crackpot, Sheffield’s murals, Lake Barrington and Strahan are within an easy day drives and you can still come home and relax each night snug in your own warm comfy bed.
