Blue Pelican Motel is 3 1/2 star motel accommodation perfectly located in the heart of Tweed Heads just 500 metres from the Queensland/New South Wales border at Coolangatta. The accommodation is roomy, clean, comfortable and affordable with eight Austar channels also has Wireless Internet available. The motel has a pool and spa. The Blue Pelican Motel is directly opposite the Tweed Heads Bowls Club, Civic Centre and Southern Cross University. We are only 200 metres to the Tweed District Hospital and a major Centro shopping Centre. The motel is located 500 metres south of the Twin Towns Services Club, Coolangatta beaches, restaurants, shops and movie cinema complex. The Blue Pelican Motel is an ideal location for short and long term stays, for singles, couples and families. We will ensure you are made welcome on your arrival and that your stay with us is as enjoyable as possible, and an event to remember for the right reasons. | Getting There |
We are the blue motel directly opposite the Tweed Heads Bowls Club on the old Pacific Highway at 115 Wharf Street, Tweed Heads. We are the closest motel to the Tweed District Hospital. The Gold Coast Airport is a 5 minute drive. When travelling south on the Pacific Highway take the Coolangatta Tweed Heads turn off to the left just near the Coolangata airport follow the signs to Tweed Heads. You will pass the Twin Towns Club on your left side. There is an overhead pedestrian walkway as a landmark. The motel is about 500 to 600 metres further along Wharf Street on the right hand side. When travelling north on the Pacific Highway don't take the first turn off when you see a sign Tweed Heads and South Tweed. Keep travelling north until you travel over the beautiful Terranora Creek. Shortly after passing over the Creek you will see a sign on the left "Tweed Heads - Kennedy Drive". Take tat exit - down the off ramp. Turn right at the first roundabout and follow Kennedy Drive for 1.5 kilometres. Then bear left at the sign indicating "Tweed Heads Wharf Street". Follow that street for another 1 kilometre and the motel is on your left hand side, opposite the Tweed Heads Bowls Club. By Air - Virgin Blue, Jetstar all fly to Coolangatta Airport (Gold Coast). The motel is a 5 minute drive away. The airport has Budget, Avis, Thrifty, Europcar and Hertz car hire agencies at the terminal. |

| Things To Do |
The Tweed River is just a few hundred metres from the motel. Fishing is popular from the banks of the river, or for the more adventurous, boat hire, and house boat hire is also available. Rainforest cruises and crab catching boat tours are also available. For those liking the deep blue sea a number of fishing charters operate out of Tweed Heads. For those who enjoy a round of golf, the Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club is not to be missed. Located about 5 kilometres south of our motel, where members and guests can relax and enjoy the facilities of the magnificent 36 hole golfing complex with clubhouse views overlooking the finishing holes and the beautiful Tweed River. The Wintersun Festival is held every year at Tweed Heads/Coolangatta. A very popular event running for 10 days end of May, beginning of June every year. Ten days of retro nostalgia, hot rods, classic and custom cars, 100+ live bands and rock n roll. Dreamworld, WetNWild, Movie World and SeaWorld are about a 30 minute drive north of our motel. |
