Casuarina Coastal Units are situated at the far end of American River which puts them in a quiet location even by Kangaroo Island standards.

We are a family oriented property offering outstanding value for money. There are 6 units, all fully self contained and furnished with a double bed and, in a separate room, bunk beds - one up, one down. Linen is included in the price. There is a well equipped kitchen as well as a bathroom, TV and DVD.

Most evenings you will be joined by some of the Tammar Wallabies with which we share American River. Possums are also common and we do see occasional goannas and echidnas.

A gas barbecue is available as are facilities for cleaning the fish which just seem to queue up to take your bait.

We are about 3 minutes walk from the lagoon where you can swim or fish. Spectacular Pennington Bay is about 10 minutes drive away.

Self-contained unit

Fully self-contained with a double bed in the main area which also contains dining table and armchairs; and a single bed or bunks in a separate room. Well-equipped kitchen. Private toilet and shower. Wallaby watch from your verandah in the evenings.
Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $10.00. Extra children $10.00. The room caters for a maximum of 4 adults, and a maximum of 2 children but cannot exceed 4 guests in total.

Check In Instructions	Check-in at the American River Post Office, which is part of the complex and under the same ownership. If the PO is closed, ring the night bell by the PO door for attention. (If you expect to arrive after 6pm, please let us know when booking).

Getting There	We are about 30 minutes drive from the Sealink ferry terminal at Penneshaw and 25 minutes from Kingscote airport which is served by Regional Express (REX). Follow signs to American River. Once in the township, drive straight ahead until you see Ryberg Road on the left. Turn into Ryberg Road and you'll find us on the corner of Faile Court.
Parking	Free off street car and boat parking is available. Please let us know if you're bringing a boat and we'll try to accommodate you in a unit with boat space adjacent.
Things To Do	Kangaroo Island is one of nature's prime showcases. Expect to see many different species of bird, seals, sea lions, kangaroos (of course), wallabies to name but a few. Bush walks lead to spectacular scenery - the island is 155Km long and up to 45Km wide. You'll need longer than you think!
