| Getting There |
The Westin Auckland Lighter quay is uniquely positioned in Auckland’s Central Business District at 21 Viaduct Harbour Ave, 23 km from the Auckland International Airport. It takes approximately 40 minutes via vehicle from the Airport. All guests should allow between 45 – 60 minutes if traveling from the hotel to the airport. Chauffeur driven vehicle A meet and greet service in a top quality chauffeur driven sedan can be arranged at your request. The cost of this transfer would be $110.00 each way (airport to hotel transfer, or Hotel to airport) through one of our preferred companies and can be charged onto your room account. The same quality Mercedes Vans or Stretch limousines are available on request. Taxi The hotels preferred taxi company is Corporate Cabs, on average an Airport to hotel transfer is between $65 - $70 NZD, and would take approximately 45 minutes. Shuttle Shuttles are readily available from the airport. Allow $25.00 for the first person and $5 for every person after. Shuttles will take approximately 1 hour depending on the number of drop offs and pick ups required. Private shuttles can be reserved if traveling in a group. Most shuttles tow luggage trailers. Rental Car / Self Drive Auckland International Airport houses all the top rentals car companies inside the terminal and just outside the domestic terminal. Allow 45 minutes traveling time into the city following the below directions. • Head north from the airport, towards ‘City Centre’ on George Bolt Drive. Keep following this main road joining the motorway. • Follow the motorway (veer around to the left and merge with more lanes) follow over a large bridge taking the ‘Queenstown Road off ramp’ on the left hand side past the yacht club. • Turn right at this off ramp, follow straight through the roundabout and up the hill heading straight (Road starts as Queenstown Rd, becomes Pah Road, then becomes Manukau Rd – but is all the same road approximately 3.0Km). • After passing a school on you left, Turn left into Alpers Ave, opposite a Mitsubishi Motors and Mercedes vehicle dealerships. • Being in the centre lane turn right at the traffic lights heading towards the motorway (this is Gilles Ave follow this around to the left. • On the motorway take the Nelson Street Exit to the end. • Turn Left onto Fanshawe Street • Take the 1st right onto Halsey Street • Take the 1st right onto viaduct Harbour Drive • The Hotel is directly on the left-hand side All fares stated are approximate only, and should only be used a guide. Not far away, the exclusive shopping districts of the Customhouse, High Street, and Chancery are home to some of New Zealand’s most iconic fashion labels. Take a short walk to the nearby casino, live theatre, and the concert chamber, or a longer walk through 100-year old oak-lined parks and historic warehouses around Victoria Park and Beaumont Street. Complete your journey with a stroll among the yachts of the Westhaven Marina. Auckland’s sparkling waterfront is a natural jogging track – just head east from our hotel and you can soon be running along the Pohutakawa lined promenade of Tamaki Drive. |
