The Aran Blu is a Superior 4 Star Design Hotel that offers 68 rooms, terraces and balconies with a breathtaking view of the Roman coastline and Tourist Port. The gym, terrace snack bar, air conditioning and superior service all combine to satisfy the needs of every guest. This 4 Star building is enhanced by a combination of crystal and steel that is in perfect harmony with the long sandy beaches and the sea of Ostia. In the small Bay, surrounded by palm trees, a private area is reserved for the guests. The contemporary look of the hotel is completed with a striking glass elevator that offers a panoramic view and the feeling that one is being pushed by the wind, towards the sea and the sky. | Things To Do |
Ancient Ostia: The historical and literary tradition ascribes the birth of Ostia to the fourth King of Rome, Anco Marzio, who would reign over Rome between 640 and 616 BC. Ostia was the first Roman colony and, at the beginning, worked as a military outer port of the Eternal City for the expansion in the Mediterranean. With the fall of the Roman Empire there was the beginning of Ostia’s decadence. The first excavations with a scientific purpose started with Pio VII and continued with Pio IX in 1800. Recently there was the discovery of mosaics, paintings, mitrei, tombs, thermae, roads and an amphitheatre that, still now, is the venue of many relevant cultural events during summer. The museum of Ancient Ostia gathers a rich collection of archaelogical finds, found out during the excavations. Ancient Ostia is located at 4 Km from the Hotel and is easily reachable . Modern Ostia: The beach, a few kilometers long and equipped with seaside resorts, restaurants and night clubs, cheers up the holidaymakers during spring and summer. Just facing the Hotel there is a brand new port, that is full of life and bustle thanks to its shopping center, bars, ice-cream kiosks and all the boats it can accommodate: up to 800, from 8 to 60 m long. A refined and suggestive Yacht Club offer to all the members and the hotel customers access to its library, reading room, convention area and billiard room. The harbour area is surrounded by an oasis of green safeguarded by the LIPU , the Italian Association that protects birds, which gives a contribution to the protection of the natural environment also in the wonderful old pinewood nearby. |
