Welcome to Diamond Forest Cottages, a family friendly farmstay offering our guests a relaxing and peaceful holiday overlooking a picturesque valley. From your western-red cedar cottage enjoy panoramic forest and rural views of our 55 acre property. Wake up to the call of the birds, and early risers can take the opportunity to photograph the mist rising from the dams below. At present we have approximately 100 animals. All are friendly & love attention & food. There is not a place on the property that you won't have an animal of some kind following at your heels. Children love to join us every morning to feed the animals. Your cottage overlooks our dam where you are welcome to try your luck fishing for Rainbow Trout or soak up the scenery while paddling your canoe. Rainy days are not a problem - spend some time in our games/recreation room and during winter nestle inside with your cosy wood fire and sip a glass of local wine. During warmer weather it's pleasant to cool down in our picnic pavillion in the breeze on the edge of the dam or enjoy a meal on your verandah. Our property is adjacent to the lovely Diamond State Forest, giving you the opportunity to enjoy bush walking, bird watching or viewing the wildflowers in season; or you might take the opportunity to climb the Diamond Tree Lookout which is a two hour return walk from your cottage. There is certainly no shortage of great things to do and see, both on our property and nearby. We are 10 minutes drive to Manjimup and 12 minutes drive to Pemberton. We are within 5 to 20 minutes drive of most of the local wineries and tourist attractions. An hour’s drive to Walpole will take you to the Treetop Walk and Valley of the Giants. An hour in the other direction will take you to Windy Harbour, Northcliffe and the D’Entrecasteaux National Park where you will see beautiful views from the cliffs high above the ocean. These little “jaunts” can be a pleasant half day tour. You will most certainly enjoy your time on our peaceful property and in the beautiful surroundings of the Southern Forest Region of the South West corner of Western Australia. |
