Nau mai haere mai, Welcome to Kororareka (Russell) Lodge, a family owned and operated Bed & Breakfast type accommodation. Self rated at 4. Recently rebuilt and renovated we opened in October 2006. Quietly nestled on a hill overlooking Russell Township with views over Kororareka Bay and Matauwhi Bay and just over the hill from Russell's lovely white sandy "Long Beach". Russell Village, Restaurants and cafes are just a short walk away. Accommodation to suit all budgets as we offer ensuite bedrooms,bedrooms that share bathroom facilities and wheelchair friendly facilities. A separate guest lounge, dinning area and deck area. Great accommodation for the single traveller,couples and groups, be it a wedding or small conference. We can arrange all activities in the Bay of Islands for you.Including fishing,sight seeing trips in and around the Bay of Islands and Northland. |

By Car: From Auckland - take state highway 1 to Whangarei.From there,follow direction (north) Kawakawa.From there,follow direction Russell/Paihia/Bay of Islands.At Opua,turn right to the car ferry (available until 10pm). From car ferry landing,Russell is 10 minutes away(9 km's).Kororareka Lodge is at 22 Oneroa Road.From Village travel down Chapel street,then up the hill onto Ashby Street,at the top turn left onto Gould Street.Oneroa Road starts at the next bend we are approx. 350 metres up Oneroa Road on the right hand side. Alternatively, the old Russell road from 20km after Whangarei on the right is a beautiful scenic road(adds 1/2 hr drive more).Or from Paihia (buses from Auckland direct)by passenger ferry every 20 minutes until 10pm. By Air: Fly to Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. Transfers can be arranged. |
