Coastal Palms is located in Motueka, the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park and situated 45 minutes from Nelson City at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. Nelson is a region of diverse beauty, from the clear blue waters and golden sands of Tasman and Golden Bays to the alpine lakes and vast beech forests of the mountain regions. One of the sunniest areas in New Zealand, Nelson provides long balmy summers and clear winter days. Boasting three different national parks; Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi, all within ninety minutes drive of each other. The Abel Tasman National Park is a coastal playground offering a mecca for those seeking sand, sea and sun. Activities include kayaking, seal swimming, watertaxi rides and launches, skydiving and Abel Tasmans greatest café. Nelson Lakes National Park offers water sports, alpine adventures and a range of tramping trails. It is also famous for the filming locations of Lord Of The Rings which can be visited by helicopter or plane.
