The motel is located on the southern side of Auburn, the gateway to the Clare Valley wine region. Auburn is an historic town with many heritage buildings, and was the birthplace of C.J. Denis. |

If travelling from Adelaide, take the Main North Road and follow the signs to the Clare Valley. The Auburn Shiraz Motel is the first building on the left hand side once you get to Auburn, which is 24km south of Clare. If travelling by bus from Adelaide, you will be dropped off near the Auburn Roadhouse, and it is a short 2 minute walk to the motel. |

| Things To Do |
Auburn is rich in history and heritage buildings. The township was established in 1849 and first known as Tateham's Waterhole. The Clare Valley is one of Australia's premium wine regions with more than 40 producers, eight of which are located in or near Auburn. Auburn is the start of the Reisling Trail, and the newly established Rattler Trail between Auburn and Riverton. The length of the Reisling Trail can be cycled in approximately 2 hours, but can also be completed in stages via the Loop Trails and visiting attractions and wineries along the way. Some of South Australia's finest stonework is to be found in the group of public and private buildings along Main North Road. Many of Auburn's buildings are listed on the National Trust, State Heritage and National State Registers. A brochure entitled 'A Walk Around Auburn' can be picked up from reception at the motel. One of Australia's great authors, C.J. Dennis, was born in Auburn in 1876 in the Auburn Hotel. A drinking fountain, bird bath and replica of the hotel now stand in memory of him. A nearby attraction is Martindale Hall at Mintaro, which is open every day except Christmas Day and Good Friday. The Auburn Shiraz Motel is a good resting place, whilst visiting many attractions in and around Auburn. Auburn offers visitors great motel accommodation, many heritage buildings of architectural and historic merit, craft shops, antique shops, wineries, restaurants and tearooms, all within easy walking distance. |
