Glencoe Rural Retreat – A place of “harmonie” - is a charming traditional farmhouse set on 24 acres of fertile rolling pastures, beautiful and tranquil gardens with a breathtaking view of spectacular Mount Roland just outside the township of Sheffield (famous for its murals). With Cradle Mountain as a backdrop and Lake Barrington rowing course on its doorstep, Glencoe is blessed with natural attractions and beauties all within easy reach: Bushwalking, horse riding, antiques, and an array of food and wine to suit every palate. Glencoe is also 15 minutes away from the Spirit of Tasmania Terminal. Hosts Remi & Ginette Bancal have recently refurbished the farm in a French country style, with four guests bedrooms, all with modern ensuite bathrooms, separate lounge and dining room. A serene and warm atmosphere flows through the house in harmony with beautiful paintings of local artists. Glencoe offers evening meals by prior arrangement to guests. Remi & Ginette’s passion for food and wine is internationally known. Local and seasonal produce are used to bring the taste of South of France to the table. Glencoe boasts a garden tea room in a pristine environment serving light gourmet lunch, homemade cakes, scones, biscuits, great coffees and a large choice of loose teas. See you at the Retreat! |
