Situated on the final stretch of Venice’s Grand Canal, The Westin Europa & Regina, Venice occupies a picturesque position and the same views that inspired impressionist painter Claude Monet: the beautiful Italian Baroque church of Santa Maria della Salute, Punta della Dogana, and the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Not far away lie St. Mark's Square, St. Mark's Basilica, the La Fenice Opera House, and Calle XXII Marzo, Venice's prestigious shopping area. Composed of five 18th and 19th century historic palaces, the oldest of which belonged to the illustious Tiepolo family, the Venetian family that gave Venice two “Doges” and the 17th century painter Giambattista Tiepolo, The Westin Europa & Regina, Venice today offers guests a refreshing combination of characteristic elegance and contemporary conveniences. Spread over 6 floors, the 185 guestrooms and suites vary in décor from characteristic Venetian style lacquered furniture in yellow, green or pink pastel colours, to a refreshing modern décor in light blues, creams, greys and oranges. All guestrooms offer Westin's famous Heavenly Bed® and high-speed internet access for a fee; non-smoking rooms and connecting or adjoining rooms can be requested. A few guestrooms are able to be accessed by wheelchair confined guests, however, none of the guestrooms offer specific disabled facilities. The bathrooms in the guestrooms are in shades of marble, varying from Portuguese pink, to Alpine green, to white Carrara according to the décor of the Guestroom itself. All offer every comfort: an extension telephone, hair dryers, and toiletries, Westin's Heavenly Bath and Shower®. The bath-towels and bathrobes are of the highest grade of cotton. The La Cusina restaurant, situated on the ground floor overlooking the Grand Canal and open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, is one of the most refreshing restaurants in the city, as much for its ambience as for its high level of gastronomic excellence. A truly distinguishing characteristic of the La Cusina restaurant is its open kitchen, unique in Venice and one of the few in Italy. Catering for up to 110 patrons, La Cusina's cuisine is based on the rediscovery of the old dishes of the Venetian islands and of the Veneto mainland: fish and a large variety of meat preparations, the rice and the classical polenta - all refined by Chef Albero Fol's expert haute cuisine touch; the pasta is fresh and homemade daily, both in traditional and in creative forms; all ingredients are strictly fresh with particular attention given to seasonality; the wine cellar is truly exceptional, with over 200 different labels, representing one of the largest selections of national and international wines in the city of Venice. La Cusina's inner restaurant is composed of three intimate and welcoming areas, decorated in three characteristic styles. All sections offer an unparalleled view across the Grand Canal through large windows and doors on to the two connecting terraces. When the weather turns warm, meals are served on the restaurant terrace on the Grand Canal, offering a breathtaking view of the beautiful Italian Baroque church of Santa Maria della Salute, directly opposite, and of the very end of the Grand Canal as it leads into St. Mark's Basin on level with the masterful façade of the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore. Open daily from 10:30am to 01:00am, Bar Tiepolo on the ground floor envelops guests in the atmosphere of a Venetian salon. A meeting point for both Venetians and hotel guests, its pleasant corners offer intimacy and a tranquillity, ideal for recharging after an afternoon of exploring Venice. During the warmer months drinks and snacks may be enjoyed on the bar's terrace overlooking the Grand Canal, the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset, or the reflections of the city's lights dancing on the waters of the Grand Canal. A Piano Bar entertains guests each evening except Mondays. Disabled access and equipped restrooms are available on the ground floor of the hotel. Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the WestinWORKOUT® room welcomes guests to 50 square metres of mirror-lined, marble floored space furnished with ultra-modern Technogym® equipment, each with built in TV. A stretching room is also available on the ground floor. Use of both facilities is complimentary for hotel guests. Designed and certified by Runner's World Magazine, Runner's World Maps are available to our guests and feature 3 and 5-mile jogging/walking routes from our hotel as well as local running tips. The multi-lingual, 24-hour clef d'or Concierge Desk is ready to assist with restaurant reservations, tours, private guides, transport arrangements, hairdressing appointments and much more From April to October, tennis and golf facilities at the Venice Alberoni Golf course may be reserved through the hotel Concierge. During the summer months, guests may enjoy beach facilities, windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing and other water sports available on Venice Lido. Charges apply. Visit and see for yourself why our lovely 5 star hotel was named to Condé Nast Traveler's 2008 Gold List. |
