| Getting There |
First you need to get to Mansfield, about 2½ hours north east of Melbourne. Driving from Melbourne you can travel through the scenic Yarra Valley following the Melba Highway or along the Hume and turn off at Tallarook. For visitors travelling south along the Hume Freeway take the Mansfield turn off near Benalla. Stock up at Mansfield for all your food, drinks and petrol. The town's two supermarkets are open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week. From Mansfield follow the signs to Mt Buller. About 18 kms from Mansfield you’ll pass through Merrijig and from here it’s 8.5 kms to Alpine Ridge Drive, turn right. Alpine Ridge Lodge is located about halfway up this steep road on your left. |
| Parking |
Plenty of off street parking is available on the property. You will have easy access from you room to your car. |
| Things To Do |
Apart from the excellent alpine skiing and boarding at Mt Buller, there's first class cross-country trails at our sister mountain, Mt Stirling. You can also horse ride with the Watson family into the spectacular Victorian High Country, a tradition that has been established over two generations. Their 730 acre property adjoins the Victorian High Country made famous by the "Man from Snowy River" movies. All our rides leave from our historic timber stables and after every ride all guests are invited into their farm house for welcoming country hospitality and a cool or warm drink. They have a mob of 70 horses and run their rides 7 days a week through all seasons, be it in the warmth of an oilskin coat in the cool weather or enjoying relief from the heat in a high country summer. |
