From Sydney, the total driving time is approximately 5 hours. Take the Hume Highway from Sydney, then follow the Federal Highway to Canberra. As you approach Canberra, you can take a well sign-posted bypass route to Cooma if you do not wish to drive through Canberra. Follow the Cooma signs to the Monaro Highway which will take you to Cooma, approximately an hour south of Canberra. From Cooma, take the Kosciuszko Road to Berridale and turn left into Myack Street and then turn right into William Street and on to Cottonwood Lodge. |

Berridale is close to many of the Snowy Mountains great attractions. An easy 30 minute drive from Cooma, the town has a 9 hole golf course with bowling greens, shops, service stations, cafes, ski hire and a licensed club. Located on the edge of the Monaro Plains, the boulder-strewn landscape gives rise to the Berridale Boulders which are a feature of the drive to the nearby township of Dalgety. Berridale is also within easy driving distance of the forests of the Bombala region and the South Coast. Cottonwood Lodge can provide full details and itineraries for these and other optional day tours. Ski Resorts nearby include Perisher Blue, Selwyn Snowfields and Thredbo. Other Snowy Mountains attractions include Eucumbene Trout Farm, Snowy River Winery and Snowy Mountains Scheme. As this area is one of Australia's best cycling locations, it is an ideal base for training groups. You can ride up the hills to the 1200m plateau and enjoy the scenery. |
