'For A Therapeutic and Relaxing Geothermal Experience.' MALFROY Motor Lodge and Spa has eight spacious, comfortable and affordable serviced apartments set in character surroundings with semi-tropical gardens close to the centre of Rotorua. MALFROY has its own geothermal re-injection bore, which is used to heat hot water, and to provide central heating into all of the apartments. The property also has its own genuine, mineral spa pool and a large heated plunge pool; both of which are heated by the water from the bore. MALFROY supports Responsible Tourism and our re-injection bore, along with eco-bulbs, recycling, and green paper / plastic bags being used across the property makes MALFROY one of the most eco friendly properties in Rotorua. Set in semi-tropical gardens close to Rotorua City Centre (CBD), all of our fully self contained apartments open to the sunny North and come with outside table and chairs. All apartments are single storey, non-smoking, and have off street parking outside. We provide one 2.5 bedroom Suite that sleeps up to 7 people, four two bedroom apartments that can sleep a maximum of 6 guests each, and three studio apartments that can sleep up to 3 guests - two adults plus a child. Three of our eight apartments come with massage shower/spa baths, and at 41 degrees centigrade our mineral pool (Spa) is both therapeutic and soothing for muscular pains, arthritis and rheumatism - and nothing beats a hot soak after a tiring day’s sightseeing. All of our serviced apartments are self-contained being fully furnished, and include a comfortable queen size bed with freshly laundered linen, six channel SKY TV (satellite) and a DVD player come as standard – so that you can watch the movies / footy / tennis in the comfort of your own lounge. MALFROY is very well located for access to Rotorua district's wide range of cultural, geothermal, scenic, adventure, and sporting attractions. We are also only a three minute walk from the CBD where you will find shops, cafes, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. All of our apartments are single level, non-smoking and each has an off-street car park virtually outside the front door. In addition to free off-street parking, we provide a free wireless broadband service, free local telephone calls, a secure children's play area with adventure set, and free use of our Spa pools and the guest barbecue area. By arrangement, we can also provide free secure storage for sporting equipment while you stay with us - eg mountain bikes, kayaks. Rotorua is a unique holiday centre that offers something for all to enjoy. Ideally, you should allow three or four days to enjoy all that Rotorua and the local area has to offer. The local people like to talk of the five spirits of Rotorua. 1. You can feel the spirit of the earth, as it rumbles beneath your feet and escapes, hissing, through fumaroles, mud pools, and geysers. 2. You can experience the spirit of Maori culture and life style, with authentic village and performance experiences, and the unique and delicious Maori Hangi (Banquet). 3. With a soak in a natural hot spring or mineral pool, or a relaxing massage, you can rejuvenate your own spirit. 4. You can also free your spirit with outdoor adventures - trout fishing, kayaking, water-skiing, swimming, hiking and mountain biking. 5. However, if it's excitement you crave, then you can challenge your spirit with adrenalin charged extreme activities such as sky-diving, white water rafting, bungy jumping, luging, zorbing, and jet boating - to name but a few. By car MALFROY is situated on the corner of Malfroy Road and Ranolf Street - by the roundabout. By prior arrangement we can generally offer a courtesy pick up from the bus station or the airport. |
| Parking |
Free off-street parking is provided for each apartment - only one please. Although we can often accomodate an extra car for our guests, on-street parking is always available nearby when we can't. Free, secure storage for sports equipment is also available by arrangement - mountain bikes, kayaks etc. |
| Things To Do |
There is more to do in Rotorua than any other New Zealand city. In addition to those mentioned under the 5 Spirits above, there is the opportunity to view its surprising crater, mountain and lake landscapes, its memorable and striking Tudor-style architecture and its beautiful public parks. The farmland around the city is also some of the most fertile in New Zealand, all of which can make make a local drive an interesting experience when looking for a more relaxing day. Or you can just sit and relax in one of our pools. MALFROY motor lodge is one block from the town centre (CBD),200 meters from theCentral City Mall (Supermarket, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, Farmers, Warehouse etc), less than 500 meters from Kuirau Park and the local Cafes and Restuarants, and less than 1 kilometer from Te Puia, Whakarewarewa Village, Rotorua Museum, Polynesian Spa, the International Stadium, the central Bus station, and Rotorua Convention Centre. There are also 2 golf courses within1 kilometer of MALFROY motor lodge. |
