What we now call "La Vecchia Cartiera" (The Old Paper-mill), was a factory of valuable paper active since 1200, that, after a careful refurbishing, has become a comfortable 3 star Hotel. Discreet and functional rooms and unaffected reception give guests the pleasant sensation of being at home. The Hotel has 38 bedrooms fit out with modern, simple and light colour wooden furnishings, private bathroom, TV, mini-bar, direct telephone, air conditioning/heating; it has also an underground fee garage. The restaurant proposes a rich and varied menu where tastes of bygone days relive in the traditional dishes of Tuscan cuisine. The Hotel is located in the centre of Colle Val d'Elsa, the town of crystal: the 90% of Italian crystal and the 15% of the worldwide production come from here. Then, the charming village of Colle val d'elsa is ideally located to reach the most important touristic attraction, like Siena (18 Km), Florence (38 Km), San Gimignano (12 Km), and all the Chianti area. |

From Rome: motorway A1; exit Valdichiana, take the state road Siena-Bettolle direction Siena. Take the freeway (superstrada) Siena-Firenze direction Florence, exit Colle Val d’Elsa Sud and keep on following directions to “Centro”(the hotel is located in the centre of Colle Val d’Elsa, near the main square Piazza Arnolfo). From Milan/Bologna: motorway A1; exit Firenze Certosa. Take the freeway (superstrada) Siena-Firenze direction Siena, exit at Colle Val d’Elsa Nord and keep on following directions to “Centro” (the hotel is located in the centre of Colle Val d’Elsa, near the main square Piazza Arnolfo). From Pisa airport: take the freeway Livorno-Firenze, exit Empoli Ovest. Follow the signs for Certaldo and Poggibonsi. Exit at Colle Val d’Elsa and keep on following directions “Centro” (the Hotel is located in the centre of Colle Val d’Elsa, near the main square Piazza Arnolfo). By train: we advice to stop in Florence, Siena or Poggibonsi station, and then take a bus For Colle Val d'Elsa; get off on the main square Piazza Arnolfo (the Hotel is located in Via Oberdan, the street close to the square). |

| Things To Do |
Colle val d'Elsa has a charming historical centre to visit; to know more about the history of the village, guests may visit the museum of civic and religious art, the archeological museum an the crystal museum in front of the hotel. There are several good restaurants and pizzerias in all town. |
