Extensive renovations have been done to this former Christian Brothers 1920’s stately residence transforming it into elegant heritage accommodation with 15 bedrooms and all with modern tiled en suites. The Brothers offers a mixture of convenience, history, charm, elegance and tranquillity, with the building retaining much of it’s original grandeur. The Hotel offers bed & breakfast and is well situated being only a 6 minute walk (downhill) to the city centre, restaurants and bars. There are unequalled spectacular views of the city and harbour from the 4 superior balcony rooms, the hotel is centrally heated throughout and has great off street car parking for 15 vehicles. There is a guest lounge with sky TV and free broadband internet (laptop available for emails), a separate breakfast room, laundry service and a tour desk. Expect to see our very friendly Concierge called "Baron" (a black Lab) alseep somewhere.... | Getting There |
By car: Travelling to Dunedin from the north you travel south on the one way system on Cumberland St. Just past the Railway station keep in the far right lane and turn right into Rattray St at the Queens Gardens. Travel over Princess St and turn right following "Roslyn" signs up Rattray St past one of Dunedins most well known landmarks the Speights Brewery vearing left before St Josephs Cathedral. Then take the next left onto Brown St (just past the pedestrian crossing), then a sharp left onto Bishops Road at the next intersection with Elm Row. Travelling to Dunedin from the South you travel north on the one way system on Crawford St and turn left into Rattray st at the Queens Gardens. The 15 space carpark is located beside the Hotel on the second level and there is ramp access to the building. The carpark is found off Bishops Road and Brown St which runs off Rattray St |
| Things To Do |
Dunedin has some wonderful wildlife experiences at it's back door including the Royal albotross colony and the very rare yellow eyed penguins. It is a vibrant city with strong scottish connections and a large student population. There are many historic buildings, a brewery tour (within 3 minutes of the Hotel), a chocolate factory and harbour and train excursions. Enquire at our Tour desk at reception. |
