Welcome to a special place in Dunedin. Relax in our European style boutique Hotel close to all inner city amenities. Extensive renovations have been done to this former Christian Brothers 1920's stately residence transforming it into elegant heritage accommodation with 15 bedrooms, all with tiled en suites and is centrally heated throughout.

The Brothers offers a mixture of convenience, history, charm, elegance and tranquillity, with the building retaining much of it's original grandeur. It is a six minute walk downhill to the city centre, restaurants and bars and a 10 minute walk back.

We should also add this is not your typical standard New Zealand Hotel so if that is what is sought then The Brothers may not be to your liking. The intention during the refurbishment was to be sympathetic to the buildings history and as such most of the rooms are of a size often found in European Cities. As a Guest once said on Trip Advisor "Travellers looking for a cookie cutter, mundane hotel, should not consider The Brothers. This is a lovingly and elegantly restored building with a charming and helpful host. Centrally located, it is a quick walk to wonderful restaurants and the postcard pretty railway station."

A welcoming drink is offered early evening in the main Guest lounge.

Unfortunately the Hotel is unsuitable for infants, babies and young children under 12 and can not be accommodated.

Getting There By car:

Travelling to Dunedin from the north you travel south on the one way system on Cumberland St. Just past the Railway station keep in the far right lane and turn right into Rattray St at the Queens Gardens. Travel over Princess St and turn right following "Roslyn" signs up Rattray St past one of Dunedins most well known landmarks the Speights Brewery vearing left before St Josephs Cathedral. Then take the next left onto Brown St (just past the pedestrian crossing), then a sharp left onto Bishops Road at the next intersection with Elm Row.

Parking The 15 space carpark is located beside the Hotel on the second level and there is ramp access to the building. The carpark is found off Bishops Road and Brown St which runs off Rattray St
Things To Do Dunedin has some wonderful wildlife experiences at it's back door including the Royal albotross colony and the very rare yellow eyed penguins. It is a vibrant city with strong scottish connections and a large student population. There are many historic buildings, a brewery tour (within 3 minutes of the Hotel), a chocolate factory and harbour and train excursions. Enquire at our Tour desk at reception.
