The hotel was built in 1896 and has been re-opened in April 2003 after a two year full renovation. The 5-storey building is located in the heart of Budapest, within walking distance to the Opera House, major attractions and close to the main business district and shopping area. The hotel offers 414 luxuriously designed guest rooms and suites equipped with colour TV, satellite and movie channels, electronic safe, trouser press, hairdryer, mini bar, individually controlled air conditioning, direct dial telephone, voice mail, Internet access. The Executive Club Floor Lounge is designed for today's discerning travellers and offers complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments and snacks, cocktail hour, concierge service and business centre. A substantial area of the first floor has been dedicated to the Valletta Conference and Exhibition Centre. With more than 2250 square metres and 28 meeting rooms, the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal will offer the most up-to-date conference facilities available in Budapest. The hotel has two restaurants including the Rickshaw Far Eastern Restaurant and Sushi bar for a truly unique dining experience. A unique spa, built in 1888, was rediscovered and is being restored. The hotel is a 30 minute drive (18km) from Budapest Airport (Ferihegy). Shuttle bus service is available from the Airport to the hotel. The concierge can organise taxi transfer (pick up) on request. Keleti train station is only a 10 minute drive (1km) from the hotel straight along the Rakoczi Street then left at the Erzsebet krt (Grand Boulevard). Motorway M1 from Vienna: From highway direction Petõfi hid (Petõfi Bridge), having driven over the bridge, where the Grand Boulevard starts. The hotel is about 4km from the bridge. |
