Situated in tastefully maintained gardens with heritage listed buildings dating back to 1852 that are on either side of Kings Creek which runs through the complex. The 1872 fully restored hotel acclaimed with many awards for its restoration offers excellent accommodation and fine cuisine. A feature of the grounds is a stone arch bridge over the creek, which is home to our resident platypus. The hotel has both a coffee shop, tasting room and a restaurant boasting fine dining and cuisine. Four rooms with ensuites and queen size beds. All rooms have tv, coffee and tea making facilities and are fully heated. Honeymoon suite with spa available. Latrobe is located 10km from Devonport (the Spirit of Tasmania), Devonport Airport and is central to all Northern Tasmanian tourist attractions. In approximately 1 hour you could be in Launceston or the heart of Cradle Mountain! |

Register of Significant Trees - In addition to the usual register of buildings that all National Trust groups compile and maintain, National Trust Tasmania were concerned about the conservation of an extremely important part of our heritage, trees of special significance in Tasmania. There are 6 such listings of significant trees in Latrobe. Teddy Sheean Memorial / Sheean Walk - Bronze sculpture and history of local hero Edward 'Teddy' Sheean, also start of Sheean Walk which displays plaques detailing the contribution Australians played in various conflicts within World War II, Korean, Vietnam, Borneo and Malaya hostilities.
