The Astor Metropole Best Western has become one of Brisbane's most charming and intimate hotel and apartment complexes, tastefully decorated in a style that reflects both the old and the new. A new 15 level tower apartment complex has been added to the original historic Astor Building. This prime elevated location is a short walk to both the city centre (just 3 blocks to Queen Street!) and adjacent entertainment precincts (in the Valley and at Southbank). Not to mention Suncorp Stadium - just 2 stops away by train or a 15 minute walk if you are feeling energetic. Transport to and from our location is very convenient with an entrance to Central Station just 1 block away. We enjoy a superb aspect across the city skyline and the northern suburbs with views all the way to Mt Coot-tha! The complex offers a wide choice of accommodation from the superb Tower Apartments to our Executive Club Apartments (ideal for a special night away!) all with very competitive tariffs. All Tower apartments include individual non-ducted air conditioning, broadband connection, most with private balconies, almost all with kitchens, TV and free in house movies. Most rooms have a single Euro bed - it is bigger than a single bed but not as wide as a double bed - very comfortable and purpose designed for an extra guest. When not in use it looks like and can be used as a very comfortable lounge. Our hotel can satisfy the requirements of every business or tourist traveller. AIRTRAIN - A free one way ticket is available to all Astor Metropole guests! Simply present your confirmation document to the friendly staff at the Airtrain Kiosk at either the domestic or international terminal and they will give you your one-way ticket from the airport to central station. This is a great way to get to the Hotel if you don't have too much luggage. Return Airtrain tickets are available from the Hotel front desk ($12 each). Taxi - $35 from the airport to Hotel. Driving - Use the Freeway (F1) and take the Turbot Street exit, left into Edward Street (at the turn left anytime exit at the 3rd set of traffic lights) and left again into Wickham Terrace (at the next set of lights). We are located just one block from Central Station (look for the Wickham Terrace exit) Being in the heart of Brisbane City you will find Queen Street Mall just 3 blocks (downhill!) from the Astor Metropole. We are short ten minute walk to Brisbane's Treasury Casino, continue walking past the Casino and over Victoria Bridge and you will find yourself in South Bank Parklands. The closest major intersection is the corner of Upper Edward Street and Wickham Terrace. |

Secure covered parking is available subject to availability. Parking - $9/car per day fees payable on check-in. Parking is limited and not guaranteed. In addition to our car park, off street parking (metered 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday) is available nearby in Berry Street. Guests are invited to park on Wickham Terrace in the 2 min loading/set down area in front of hotel while checking in. Reception staff will direct you to the car park entrance after you have checked-in. |

Why not go for a walk, shop or sightsee - we are close to everything, South Bank, the Treasury Casino, Queen Street Mall, Suncorp Stadium, Queensland Museum, Roma Street Bus Transit Centre, Central Station, Roma Street Parklands, they are all within walking distance. Please ask the many 'locals' for tour information to the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and of course for the hundreds of local attractions and places of interest. All Special Offers regarding a River Cruise are supplied by Australian Day tours who supply a pick up service from our Foyer at 9.10am on the morning of the Cruise - the cruise travels to Breakfast Creek Wharf where a morning tea is provided and there is also time to walk across to Newstead House and the beautiful grounds along the riverside. This cruise concludes at Southbank at 12.30pm where you are welcome to explore on your own or board the return bus back to the Hotel. Please CONFIRM your cruise booking on CHECKIN. |
