The landmark Grace Building is recognised as one of Sydney’s most elegantly restored Neo Gothic buildings located in the heart of Sydney. Modelled on the Chicago Tribune building and opened in 1930, the Grace Building was originally the headquarters of the Australian department store, Grace Bros. Converted into The Grace Hotel in 1997 it stands beautifully renovated with many of the original features restored and retained. The Grace is perfectly located, with the best shopping, theatres and attractions including King Street Wharf and Darling Harbour only a short stroll away. Guests will be delighted to locate the iconic Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Botanic Gardens and Chinatown nearby. The Grace is also located within close proximity to public transport including trains, buses and ferries. Taxi services are also available from the York Street entrance. All of The Grace’s 382 spacious contemporary rooms feature 32” flat screen TV’s, movies on demand* and cable news and sports programs. The latest in modern telecommunications is also available, including broadband and wireless Internet*, voice mail and data points. There is also a Business Centre located on Level 2. Guests will enjoy complimentary access to the Rooftop Health and Fitness Centre with heated indoor lap pool, fully equipped gym, sauna and steam room. Guests are also provided a world of convenience and relaxation with two day spas and a hairdressing salon for the ultimate pampering experience. An array of boutique and souvenir shops are also available. The Grace Hotel is improving its Pool, Spa, Sauna and Steam room Facilities from September 1, 2009. The renovation is due for completion in early December 2009. The gymnasium however, will still be available between the hours of 6:30am and 9:30pm each day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but do look forward to offering an improved facility in time for Summer 2009. | Getting There |
The Grace Hotel is approximately 25 minutes from Sydney International Airport. Transfers from the airport to the hotel are available by private taxi, private coach or mini bus. The hotel is located on the corner of King and York Street, with the main entrance located in York Street. Interstate and national highways are 15 minutes drive via link roads heading north, south and west for guests travelling by car. The nearest train station is Wynyard - direct service from Domestic and International Airport Terminals. |
| Parking |
The entrance to Plaza Parking is on Clarence street (on approach to King Street). Hotel guests are entitled to a reduced rate of $40 per vehicle per 24 hour period (multiple entries and exits allowed), with hourly rates available once this time period is exceeded. There is limited space available and parking is on a first come, first serve basis. Plaza Parking attendants can advise guests on alternative independent parking facilities if the car park is full. |

Guests will enjoy our prime location only minutes walk from Sydney’s best shopping districts including the Queen Victoria Building, Pitt Street Mall, Myer at Sydney Central Plaza and the David Jones city stores. Also within walking distance are all the attractions of Darling Harbour, Cockle Bay and King Street Wharf. Guests will also be delighted to find The Rocks, Chinatown, Circular Quay, Harbour Bridge and Opera House nearby, with Sydney's fine theatres just beyond our doorstep. |
