Things To Do The Vines Meet the Sea

McLaren Vale is where the vines meet the sea ? a region nestled close to stunning beaches and the sweeping hills. A region of diversity and warm hospitality. You?ll hear the names of McLaren Vale wines spoken of across the globe ? there are small family wineries, big award winners, historic icons and emerging legends. We are proud of all of them. Each has a story to share.
McLaren Vale is one of Australia?s renowned wine regions, famous for producing some of the best wines in the world. There are more than 75 cellar doors, many of them family concerns with the winemaker hosting the cellar door. You?ll find a wide variety of grapes, but the Shiraz is what has placed the region on the world map. It?s second to none!
Come and try!
Many of the wineries have their own restaurants or they serve a regional platter to accompany their liquid inspiration.
We will provide you with a map of all the cellar doors and, of course, tell you about our own favourites and some hidden treasures. We can also help you to arrange wine tours around the area.

The Beaches

Our B&B is only minutes away from the stunning coastline and beaches that influence so much of our lifestyle, culture and primary production.
Seemingly endless beaches and a beautiful turquoise sea and you will never run out of space. Except for Australia Day, when the beaches are packed, there are plenty of room for everybody. A great place for all kinds of recreational activities.
Go for a walk, play cricket, surf, swim or just relax under the Australian sun and, believe it or not, on all our beaches, Aldinga, Silver Sands and Sellicks, you are allowed to take the car on to the beach. There are also car free zones, if you prefer to walk down.
A visit to the beach is a ?must do? when coming to our corner of the world.

The Wild Life

The Fleurieu Peninsula is home to some of the most stunning wild life in the world. All year round there is always something going on. Watch the Southern Right Whales, the Dolphins, the Seals or the adorable Fairy Penguins coming home to their burrows at sunset.
Visit a wild life park to come close to Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombats, Dingoes and many more.
If you are a little more adventurous, why not try to see them in their natural habitat. We will tell you where to go.
To see a Kangaroo, you might just have to sit back and relax on the veranda and they come hopping along the road looking for new grazing grounds.
Our own property is full of native trees, which entails an absolutely sensational bird life. Come and watch Kookaburras, black or white Cockatoos, Rosella, Lorikeets and many, many more.
As locals, we have mixed feelings about the birds. They come in hundreds and try to eat everything from almonds and fruits to our precious grapes, but they are for sure colourful and beautiful to watch and we wouldn?t like to be without them.
