Directions from the South (From Silicon Valley, the Peninsula, and San Francisco International Airport): Take Highway 101 North to San Francisco Take 280 towards downtown San Francisco Take the 3rd Street Downtown exit (280 ends) Turn left at 3rd Street Go approximately 8 blocks and cross Market Street; stay in left lane 3rd Street turns into Kearny Street Go about 3 blocks to Sutter Street; turn left The Cartwright Hotel on Union Square is located just past Powell Street on the right side at 524 Sutter Street.
