Nestled on 50 private acres in the picturesque Mary Valley, an easy 1½ hours drive north of Brisbane and 40 minutes from Noosa, Amamoor Lodge is the ultimate adult retreat. Tradtional B&B and Studio Apartments are the offered as two different types of accommodation. With a AAA rating of 4½ stars, it is pure luxury at an affordable price. Amamoor Lodge offers the very best in Country Hospitality in a peaceful unique setting in the quiet bush of Australia. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the lagoon style pool or take in the views of the Valley from the spa. Relax on the generous verandas and be mesmerized by the panoramic mountain views. If inclined, take a nature walk through our very own unspoiled rainforest to the waterhole and keep an eye out for the wallabies, koalas, echidnas, possums or the many varieties of native birdlife. For the more energetic, take an hour long walk around the property and enjoy the 360 degree views of the Mary Valley. Amama forest park is nearby where you can catch a glimpse of the platypus at play. See the magnificent king parrots and the laughing kookaburras that visit each day. Make friends with Bundy and Angel, the Clydesdales, and feed Charlie a carrot! Take the time to visit the historic town of Gympie, noted as being the town that saved Queensland when gold was discovered in 1867. Explore our memorabilia shed and reminisce with the memories from yesteryear or ride in the Cobb & Co coach to Amamoor Station (Saturdays) and catch the “Mary Valley Rattler” steam train! Visit one of the many local historic pubs, or taste the fare that the Valley has to offer. Studio Apartments – Tastefully decorated in heritage style. Kitchenette facilities in apartments and gas BBQ available for guest use. Breakfast menu available. All rooms have comfortable king size bed, leather lounge chairs and private bathroom. Access to all areas except to B&B and camp fire area. B&B - In winter relax with a wine near the open fire place and take in the warm comfort of an open wood fire. Local silky oak features extensively throughout the Lodge and combined with the antiques, offer ‘old world charm’ and ‘feel at home’ atmosphere. Sit around the camp fire and spin a few yarns, view the magnificent night sky and taste a tender home grown steak. Stay in one of the three roomy queen sized B&B rooms, all with verandah access, and wake to fresh fruit and a hearty home cooked country breakfast. All suites have private bathroom facilities with R/C air conditioning. One room being specifically designed for disabled with wheelchair access. Relax in the guest lounge and listen to music from yesteryear played on the gramophone or alternately CD's and DVD's are provided. |

| Getting There |
Follow the Bruce Highway and turn off at Amamoor turnoff (which is 18 km south of Gympie and 150 km north of Brisbane) and well signed. Just look for the windmill at the gate. Follow the Amamoor signs until you come to the Y intersection, where you take the left fork into Kandanga Amamoor Road. Amamoor Lodge is 1km along on the left hand side of the road. (Just follow the signs!). |
