| Getting There |
Fly - from Brisbane Drive - 3 1/2 hours north of Brisbane on the Bruce Highway. Turnoff at Marborough. Follow the Maryborough - Hervey Bay road to Hervey Bay. Beachside Motor Inn is situated only 200m from the centre of town on the corner of the Esplanade and Taylor Street. Everything you need is within short walking distance. Buses and taxis service the city, and limousine transfers are available. The local Hervey Bay airport is 6 km away, offering scenic flights to and over Fraser Island, whale watching (in season), or a trip to Brisbane in 45 minutes. The closest international airport is in Brisbane, about three and a half hours drive from Hervey Bay. |

| Things To Do |
With it's mild climate, Hervey Bay is a wonderful holiday destination in all seasons. The calm waters of the bay are the playground of magnificent humpback whales from mid July - early November. Trips operate daily to magnificent Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world and to Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef. Accommodation can be arranged for a stay-over on either Island. Other activities include fishing, wave ski and sea kayaking, a snorkelling and coral viewing trip, sailing and dinner cruises,swimming, cycling the 14km Esplanade bike track, scenic flights, golf, horse riding, botanic gardens, museum, and the historic town of Maryborough and the rum city of Bundaberg are an easy drive away. |
