| Getting There |
From the south: Follow SH1 through Whangarei then take the turning to Tutukaka and the Whangarei Falls (just before Kensington Sports Centre). Continue to follow the signs to Tutukaka & Whangarei Falls. Lupton Lodge is 5.5km after Whangarei Falls & 2.5km after Huanui Orchards on the main road to Tutukaka. (we are on the left hand side and have a Blue & White sign which is luminous after dark). If you reach the 'ORANGE MARKET' on your left, you have gone 200m too far. From the North: Follow SH1 towards Whangarei until you see signs (turning to the right) for Kamo, Tikipunga,Tutukaka and the Whangarei Falls. This turn is about 7km before you reach Whangarei centre. Take this turning & continue to follow the signs to Tutukaka. Lupton Lodge is 5.5km after the Whangarei Falls & 2.5km after Huanui Orchards on the main road to Tutukaka. Visit the nearby Whangarei Falls and AH Reed Memorial Kauri Park. Take a 1 hour bush walk or just view the sights. 3. Visit Zion Wildlife Gardens (As seen on TV - The Lion Man). 4. Drive around the Tutukaka Coast and experience the amazing coastline. Walk down to idyllic Whale Bay or stroll along the golden sands of Matapouri Beach before having a meal at one of the many cafes and restaurants available at the Tutukaka Marina. 5. Go scuba diving at the Poor Knights Islands - one of the world's top 10 scuba dive locations. Or take a day cruise on "The Perfect Day" to the Poor Knights Islands, including lunch, snorkelling and kayaking. Departures from Tutukaka Marina. 6. Do an art trail including the Craft Quarry, Reyburn House and the Town Basin Galleries 7. Wine & Culinary tour of Northland - start at Longview Estate just south of Whangarei, drive north to Kerikeri to go to Marsden Estate (include lunch) and Cottle Hill wineries.
